Aside from our 4 part-time paid staff, we contiThu¢ to actively rwuit volunteers for our wDrkforce, and cuentlY have over 40 who are regularly contributing hours. Volunieers ar¢ of course the lifeblo<>d of OUT organisation. the museum would simply b¢ unable op¢rate withoui them. The main focu5 of the 2022r2023 period ha5 been to cary out e55critial repair5 to secure the integriry of our hisiori¢ b1]ding$ by fixing l¢aking roofs and windows. This d5 made possible by a succe5sfvI bid to Art5 Council England under ih¢ir MEND fiJndin8 stream. A ioMI of £77,000 w&s invested in these works which were ¢ompleted in May 2023 by lo¢al ¢onlrn¢tor Sieve[n Bros Ltd. While 5caffoldin8 w&s in place. we took the opportunity to ¢arry out som¢ otheT fijrther self-funded wort, an efficien¢y which Saved the museum a considerable sum of money. In Summer 2022 w¢ w¢re very proud to be awarded a Trip Advisor Trdveller's Choice Award. which puts us in lh¢ lop IO°h rated wi$iior attractions worldwide. This És a consequence of thc cmph&sis we place on ensuring that all our visiiors have an enjoyable lim¢, resulting in u5 eonsistcntly achiewng 5 star rdtings on Trip Advisor.
