Administration.

The charity’s name is Wateringbury Millennium Hall, also known as Wateringbury Village Hall.

The address of the hall is 147, Tonbridge Road, Wateringbury, Maidstone, Kent, ME185NU correspondence should be sent to this address.

The names of the Trustees are Alan Button, Anne Rex, Dennis Stones, Sarah Hudson Rod Hannan and Mike Hoiles who are responsible for the management of the Charity.

Structure, governance and management.

The constitution was adopted on 1[st] September 2001 as the Wateringbury Millennium Village Hall Association with membership being open to individuals resident in the parish of Wateringbury over the age of 18 years and anybody corporate or unincorporated association that is interested in furthering the objectives of the Charity. Each member organisation may appoint a representative to vote on its behalf at meetings of the charity.

The Trustees are appointed or reappointed annually at the Annual General Meeting when members of the executive committee are elected or re-elected.

Objectives and activities.

The objectives of the charity are to provide for the residents of Wateringbury, without distinction of sex, race or of political, religious or other opinions, a village hall which will facilitate the advancement of education, culture, social welfare and recreation with the object of improving the conditions of life of the residents and creating a good village community spirit.

Achievements.

The hall continues to be well used.

Regular activities include playgroup, dance classes, (both adult and children), adult education, theatre skills, health, parties, wedding receptions, christening celebrations, Youth Club, History Society meetings, Women’s Institute, annual pantomime, quizzes, Foot Clinic, Yoga, Pilates, Parish Council plus other meetings.

Financial review

There was a dramatic drop in our hall hire income caused by the Covid-19 lockdown, this fell to £4566 against £21004 last year. However with government Covid support grants the total income for the year was was £46,569. Depreciation of the building and fittings allows sufficient funds to be available should major items of repair and maintenance occur. Hire charges were increased in October 2019.

Future plans

To re-establish activities at the hall as soon as possible after the Covid restrictions are lifted.

Declaration

The Trustees declare that they have approved the trustees’ report above.

Signed on behalf of the charity’s trustees:
