liA GrassRoots Rwanda Update report for the work currently underway In Rwanda Have you ever wondered what happens to the smaller amounts of cash that we send through to Rwanda? The larger sums are easier to tra. but here is what happens when we sent through just £1.100 for the preschool and healthy mum groups in Munazi. This is a summary of a report from Rwanda . . . The hoalth mums, group comprises 30 womèn who have children of betW8en 3 to 6 yeats old attending the preschool with 35 children in the baby class and 30 in the middle class. The activities include teaching how to prepare a balanced diet to guard against malnutrition. the saving and credit program allowing membets to borrow smaller sums at lower rates, and the vocational training to help them generat8 nMe, and of course teaching to live a Godly life. The children of the nursery school had no comfortab18 chairs because they sat on th8 benches used in the church YrShIp services. They are now sitting in a good position as 25 chairs were bought. pla1 in the church and aré used during classes. Som818ssons and meaL8 are still given on mats, so two mats w8re bought to make them more comfortable. 10 football balls and 10 tennls balls were bought for £20 so children can play tt)38th8r. The women who have children in this nursery school and are also members oflh8 healthy mums groups were given cloth for dothes so that they can att8nd their group meetings, church worship and other galh8rings without embarrassm8nt. 30 mums received th8S8 dolhes with great joy. To help wrth school fees for the children of the nursery school, mums were given a piglet per three P80ple so that they can grow the pigFets to genefate income. 10 piglets al a cost £450 were distributed. The children usualty drink the ponidge and eat fotsj which has been prepared by their parents at school using the kitchen utensils such as cups. plates and cooking pans for porridge and food. Members of the groups expressed their happiness and gratitude to the d(orS who provided all the preschool equipment, the piglets and clothes for the mums. They particularfy said that during a rent meeting prayer, God promised to offer a glft of clolhes and they wished God's blessings on the donors who have beèn guided by Gc¥ in this way. Ongolng support update Th8 trust cKJntinues to seèk to meet the needs of the poorest in Rwanda, espeually those furthèst from the tarnC road. The trust also supports the Dufatany8 project which th8 trust has absorbed. This project has its ovm SUPFQrt8rs and we wére blessed to talk to the church of St Marks in Worle. W8Ston Super Mare. Harg the trust supports a wid8 group of people by maklng land available for them to plant crops and each family has access to th8ir own banana tree. Porridge is provided for the youngest, and every Sunday around 500 thildren agreed b8hYeen 4 and 17 come for Bible Study. Two ongoing projects here are to support a small disabled child abandoned by h8r parènts, and to rebuild a home for a poor widow.
