In planning our fundraising, we always keep in mind the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. We hold our general meetings to reach the newly diagnosed cancer sufferers and their families with much needed help and advice, with speakers attending to give their guidance and direction. We offer support to those who have recently lost someone to cancer through openly sharing feelings and experiences or by telephone support, visit patients and their families at home or in hospital, help with transport to hospital appointments and sessions, offer discretionary financial assistance (if required) and offer ongoing everyday practical help.
Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year
Earlier this year the charity celebrated reaching a milestone – it has been running for 20 years.
Donation receipts collected were amazingly high considering the affect that the Covid19 pandemic has had on all aspects of our lives. Several large fundraising events were in progress at the end of last year but we still had many small donations during the year.
Obviously, the income from the shop was affected and it was not possible to open the community centre most of the year. Running costs such as rent, light & heat etc still had to be paid but we received grants from the Borough of Pendle totalling £11,334.00 which greatly helped.
We did help 21 cancer sufferers financially this year.
The Community Centre is now refurbished and we hope to use it fully sometime next year.
