6[th] KINGSBRIDGE SCOUT GROUP
Aim and Purposes
6[th] Kingsbridge is an inclusive group that is part of the international scout movement and is guided by the values of:
-
Integrity - We act with integrity; we are honest, trustworthy and loyal.
-
Respect - We have self-respect and respect for others.
-
Care - We support others and take care of the world in which we live.
-
Belief - We explore our faiths, beliefs and attitudes.
-
Co-operation - We make a positive difference; we co-operate with others and make friends.
Our youths are sectioned into the following groups, depending on age:
Beavers: age 6 – 8 yrs
Cubs: age 8 – 10 ½ yrs
Sea Scouts: 10 ½ - 14 yrs
Objectives
As an executive committee we commit to enabling as many children and young people as possible to attend and develop socially, all guided by our core values as above.
Achievements
We offer the above groups throughout the week. We currently have 83 regular young people attending our sections, with more than 40 others on a waiting list. Because of this, we are in the process of recruiting voluntary leaders to facilitate formation of an additional scout group.
We also make our hall available to other community users including those for babies and toddlers and those those with learning disability, for a
nominal fee. This reflects our desire to be a community resource and is in keeping with our core values.
Trustees
All executive committee members are volunteers and give their time willingly . The group is led by a Chair who is elected annually, along with a Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary. Parents of participating youths are encouraged and welcomed to our regular meetings.
Current Trustees:
Dr Andrew Freeman Chair Mr Thomas Graham Vice Chair Miss Vicci Camp Secretary Mr Bruce Pritchard Treasurer Mr Daniel Bly Mrs Nicola Curzon Mr Martyn Luckhurst Mr Alexander Lammie Mr Richard Smith Miss Claire Beagley

Respective responsibilities of the Trustees and Independant Examiner
As the charity's trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts; you consider that the audit requirement of section 43(2) of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act) does not apply. It is our responsibility to state, on the basis of procedures specified in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under section 43(7)(b) of the Act, whether particular matters have come to our attention.
Basis of opinion
Our examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently we do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts
In connection with our examination, no matter has come to our attention
(1) which gives us reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements
to keep accounting records in accordance with section 41 of the Act; and
to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and to comply with the accounting requirements of the Act
have not been met; or
(2) to which, in our opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
