Annual Review
The Trust continued to oversee the management of the Ashwell Village Hall in the year. The Ashwell Village Hall has had acceptable occupancy levels and user satisfaction has been good in the year.
The Trustees have reviewed and approved the Annual Accounts for the year ended 31[st] March 2025. With cash reserves of £46,346 at the end of the year the Trust is well placed to cope with the financial issues if they were to occur.
The discussion of the constitution is still on going with the Village Hall and Parish council both looking to move this forward this year.
Ongoing building work
The Village Hall is beginning to show its age and now requires significant building work. Last year, we repaired the wall by the outdoor play area, as it had started to crumble and water was seeping indoors, causing mould to form on the internal walls.
Following the repair, the main corridor and kitchen were redecorated and fitted with a new floor, giving that part of the building a much-needed refresh.
However, the main wall facing the farmer’s fields is now in very poor condition and requires urgent attention. We have received several quotes, and one has been approved at approximately £18,000. Fortunately, the Village Hall is in a strong financial position and able to fund this essential work.
Risk Controls
A full fire risk assessment was carried out in 2024, along with a comprehensive inspection of the entire hall by Citation, including a Health & Safety review. All recommendations from these assessments have been implemented and are continually reviewed and maintained.
Levels of insurance cover are reviewed regularly
