Friends of TREAD (Charity 1081400) Statement of Financial Activities for the year ended 31st March 2023
Income
Income was slightly up compared to the previous year, although there have been some small changes in where money has been received from. Generally sources were up across the board, however the growth has slowed and is not in keeping with inflation.
Over the course of the year there has been some turnover in regular donors, this was expected and budgeted for, but far less than the previous year.
Being post pandemic allowed for more in person fundraising events.
There is a defunct Euro Bank account which is empty, which the trustee’s are attempting to close down.
As ever we are so grateful to our donors for their faithful support during a very difficult year. We are especially grateful to B & A Church Bristol, for all their support and to Jan Hillman for the Independent examination of the accounts.
Expenditure
This was the first full year post pandemic that all sites were open fully. In addition to all sites running costs, the first trustee visit since pre-pandemic happened.
Very little additional expenses were able to be incurred, due to the lack of additional incomes and projects running at planned levels.
Over the course of the year grants have moved to quarterly due to reduced fees.
Friends of TREAD and TREAD India are working together to ensure future expenditure plans, both for planned growth and no growth in income.

| I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31st March 2023 As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: ● the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or ● the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or ● the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached. |
