Additional Goveynance information The PTA works closely with the head teacher, head of school, year group leads and with other members of staff at the school. The PTA holds regu13r committee meetings, ordinarily every half term and at a minimum once per term. All parent5 and guardians are invited to attend these meetings. In addition, subcommittees are formed to work on specific events and activities, which report back to the PTA committee. This year we had a full change of trustees as illustrated in the trustee information above. Section C Objectives and activities Summary of the objectlves of the charlty set out in its governing document To promote, support and encourage the education of the pupils at the school. To provide and as51St in the provision of facilities for their education at the school, not normally provided by the Local Education Authority. Summary of the rnain activities undertaken for the public benefit in furtherance of these objectives Development of school and parent/guardian relationships The PTA undertakes fundraising activities throughout the year, which are accessible to the entire school community, such as the 'Christmas Fair, and 'Summer Fair,. This year we also held a Football eveiit to tie in with the Euros, Wreath making, School dlscos, Easter Movie and Arts & Crafts. We aim to encourage and promote whole school and stakeholder participation and engagement, with a focus on building relationships in the wider school community. In addition to major fundraising efforts, the PTA organises activities such as second-hand uniform sales and free to attend events which aims to make life easier for all families. Provision of funds and facilitie5 During the financial year 2023-24, the PTA provided to the school £25,083 for the provision of learning resources for the pupils and their parents. This included £7,084 towards Place2Be, £5,000 towards the pond refurbishment, £4,661 towards screens, iPads and a speal(er, £2,567 towards trips, as well as a host of other resources. In planning our activities forthe year, the trustee5 kept in mind the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit at our committee meetings. Section D Achievements and performance Summary of the main activities and achievements of the charity during the year In the Autumn term, the major event was the Christmas Fair, which raised £4,286, which waf open to school families, a5 well as the local c.ommunity. The PTA also org2nized a Wreath Making workshop and a Christmas Tree sale, generating £1,429.
In the Spring the PTA coordinated a'Eofundme' for Place2Be, a children's mental health and counselling service, that work with children, families and outside agencies to promote the mental wellbeing of children, raising £3,614. The PTA topped this up and we were able to fund a full year of this vital service, £7,084. Additionally, the PTA organized a sponsored 'readathon' Specially to raise funds for reading resources, £3,748 was raised. The PTA also organised Bingo, £997 an Easter Movies and Arts & Crafts event, £559 and Valentine5 Disco, £559. In the Summer term the PTA held a Summer Fair and Football event raising £6,442 and £619 respectively. The PTA assisted with events for our Year 6 leavers, which included a car wash, sponsored walk and fiver challenge, raising an impressive £3,183. Thls money was spent on year books, a leavers disco and a host of other fun activitles. In total, the PTA raised £31,771 through fundraising activities (receipts £40,030, payments £8,258), and donated £25,082 to the school. Section E Financial review Statement of the charity's policy on reserves The PTA does not have a formal policy on reserves, but the treasurer seek5 to maintain sufficient money in the bank accounts to fund all forthcoming expenditure such as floats and expenses for events, and any commitment5 to donations to the school. At no point in the year was the account overdrawn. The combined balance in the current account and paypal account on 1st September 2023 was £9,364. The account balances on the 31 August 2024 totaled £15,512, of which £2,708 is restricted and wlll be used on reading resources and year 6 leavers in the coming year, The cash movement of £6,149 is represented by fundraising activities of £31,771, less donations made of £25,082, and other expenditure5 Of £540. There are no funds in deficit, Section F Other optional information The PTA would like to thank all pupils, family members and staff for their assistance in activities during the year.
