Additional governance issues (Optional information) All Trustees of the YCA have been elected to positions through our recruitment policy and follow an agreed code of conduct. We have undertaken DBS checks carried out before the commencement of employment as a volunteer or trusteeship. All other volunteers for the association have been employed following the same process. All trustees and volunteers give their time voluntarily and receive no remuneration or other benefits. In planning our activities for the year, we keep in mind the Charity Commission's guidan on public benefit at our trustee meetings. The focus of our activities is to promote dance and music activities, mutually support and come together with our members. We work together with established majorette teams that participate in YCA competitions and events and enjoy our social media. This benefits all children, young adults, and adults by developing their self-confidence, social skills, interacting and bringing together new friendships and sharing their majorette skills. We welcome all people regardless of personal background, faith, gender, disability or personal circumstances and we believe this philosophy of openness to all enriches everyone through the sharing of the skills and aptitude for our members and volunteers. We are grateful for the many hour's volunteers have spent encouraging children through dancing and building relationships. We have spent time listening to our members and making changes that are necessary to improve the charity. Section D Achievements and performance The YCA h'as developed a strong work ethic towards learning by example which promotes a stable peer relationship whilst out of school. Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year Our 2024 season has been very successful, and we have seen record number of troupes show interest and join our association. We held 9-day competitions throughout 2024 ranging from March to October attracting between 700 and 1000 people to each event. Various majorette troupes attended with some travelling great distances, we had troupes attend from Dewsbury. Batley, Heckmondwike, Bridlington, Kendal. Leeds, Wakefield, Gurnsey and Horbufy. Our end-of-season finale competition is held at The Spa, Bridlington, East Yorkshire. Our event is held over 4 days and has been a huge success. During the day we have the majorette and pom competitions, and, in the evening, we hold entertainment nights where troupes socialise and relax together in a safe environment. We also have Solo and Duo competitions at this event which is thoroughly enjoyed by the member{. Our fundraising includes raffles, numbers boards, and the Pound in the Bucket challenge, we also raise some funds from the sale of competition wristbands. TAR
Section E Financial review Our starting balance for 2024 in the charity bank account was £22776.42.
