Trustees are appointed or reappointed annually at the Annual General
Meeting held in February.
Additional governance issues (Optional information)
All Trustees of the YCA have been elected to positions through our
recruitment policy and follow an agreed code of conduct. We have
undertaken DBS checks carried out before the commencement of
employment as a volunteer or trusteeship. All other volunteers for the
association have been employed following the same process. All trustees
and volunteers give their time voluntarily and receive no remuneration or
other benefits.

We have a Child Protection Policy, and incident reporting procedure
should we require assistance to protect our children. The YCA hold
Photography and Film policy to ensure a safe sporting environment for
children and young people for the appropriate use of images in resources
and on the internet. We are registered with the ICO Information
Commissioners Office which guides how to protect and store information
regarding our dancers under the Data Protection Act.

To provide ouf of school activities for the recreation and leisure time
occupation of young people. in the interest of social welfare and by the
provision of training and performing with a troupe of majorettes.

In planning our activities for the year, we keep in mind the Charity
Commission's guidan￿ on public benefit at our trustee meetings.
The focus of our activities is to promote dance and music activities,
mutually support and come together with our members. We work
together with established majorette teams that participate in YCA
competitions and events and enjoy our social media.
This benefits all children, young adults, and adults by developing their
self-confidence, social skills, interacting and bringing together new
friendships and sharing their majorette skills. We welcome all people
regardless of personal background, faith, gender, disability or personal
circumstances and we believe this philosophy of openness to all enriches
everyone through the sharing of the skills and aptitude for our members
and volunteers.

A great contribution is made by the YCA member volunteers and troupe
leaders. We are grateful for the many hour's volunteers have spent
encouraging children through dancing and building relationships. We
have spent time listening to our members and making changes that are
necessary to improve the charity. Without this valuable contribution of
time, energy, and expertise we would not have been able to achieve so
much success as a charity.

Achievements and performance
The YCA h'as developed a strong work ethic towards learning by example
which promotes a stable peer relationship whilst out of school.
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
Our 2024 season has been very successful, and we have seen record
number of troupes show interest and join our association.
We held 9-day competitions throughout 2024 ranging from March to
October attracting between 700 and 1000 people to each event. Various
majorette troupes attended with some travelling great distances, we had
troupes attend from Dewsbury. Batley, Heckmondwike, Bridlington,
Kendal. Leeds, Wakefield, Gurnsey and Horbufy.
Our end-of-season finale competition is held at The Spa, Bridlington,
East Yorkshire. Our event is held over 4 days and has been a huge
success.
During the day we have the majorette and pom competitions, and, in the
evening, we hold entertainment nights where troupes socialise and relax
together in a safe environment. We also have Solo and Duo
competitions at this event which is thoroughly enjoyed by the member{.
Our fundraising includes raffles, numbers boards, and the Pound in the
Bucket challenge, we also raise some funds from the sale of competition
wristbands.

Financial review
Our starting balance for 2024 in the charity bank account was £22776.42.
The intention for this amount is to buy trophies, medals, and gifts for the
upcoming 2025 season and any other costs that we may need to spend
for the Gharity to function e.g. laptops, printers, stationary etc.

Our principal source of funds comes from teams, parents of dancers,
majorettes and supporters who pay entry fees into our competitions both
to dance and to enter the events
We always try to obtain the lowest prices for everything we buy to keep
the costs low for those involved in the YCA.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above
charity ("the Trust.) for the year ended 3111212024.
Responsibilities and
basis of report
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the
accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011
("the Act.).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts Garried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I
have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 145(5)(b) of the Act,
Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have
examiner's statement come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that
disclosed below ') which gives me cause to believe that in, any material
respect..
the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130
of the Charities Act.. or
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements
concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities
