FYLDE COAST YMCA INDEPENDENT AUDITORS, REPORT (CONTINUED) TO THE TRUSTEES OF FYLDE COAST YMCA we obtained an understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks applicable to the company and group. We determined that the following were most relevant.. Charities SORP IFRS1021 and Companies Aa 2006. we considered the incentive5 and opportunities that exist in the company and group, includin8 the extent of rnanagement bias, which present a potential for irregularities and fraud to be perpetrated, and tailored our risk assessment accordingly. usin8 our knowledge of the group company. tO8ether with the discu55ions held with manègernent al the planning stage, we formed a conclusion on the risk of misstatement due to irregularities including fraud, and tailored our procedures according to this risk assessment. The key procedures we undertook to detect irregularities includin8 fraud durlng the course of the audit included- identifyin8 and testing journal entries In the overall accounting records, in particular those that were Si8nificant and unu5U31. reviewing the financial statement disclosures and determining whether accountin8 policies have been appropriately applied. reviewlng and challenging the assumptions and judgements used by management in their significant accounting estimate5. In particular in relation to depreciation, leasehold property valuation nd restricled funds. assessin8 the extent of compliance with the relevant laws and regulations. testing key revenue streams, in particular ctst-off and recoverability for evidence of management bias. obtainin8 third party confirrnation of material bank balance5 and loans. documentin8 and verlfying all significant related party transactions and balances. There are inherent limitations in our audit procedure5 descrlbed above. The more removed that laws and re8ulations are from finantlal transactions, the less likely it is that we would become aware of non.compliance. Auditin8 Standards also limit the audit procedures required to identify non-compliance with laws and re8ulation5 to enquiry of the directors and other management. and the inspection of re8ulatory ènd le8al correspondence. Material-misstatements that arise due to fraud can be harder to detect than those that arise from error as they may involve deliberate concealment or collusion. A further description of our responsibilities for the audit of the financial statements is located on the Financial Reporting Council's website at.. http'.//www.frc.org.uklauditorsresponsibilities. This description forms part of our auditor's report. Use ol our report This report is rnade solely to the charitable company's members. as a body* in accordance with Chapter 3 of Part 16 of the Companles Act 2006.
