The Trustees present their Report together with the Inspected Financial Statements for the year ended 30[th] June 2022.
This is the report for District 105SC for the year to 30th June 2022.
Trustees
There are six ex-officio trustees (Deed of Trust amendment September 2017) and they remain whilst they hold the following offices:

The Past District Governor is normally also the Chairman of the Trustees and a quorum consists of three trustees. However, PDG Alan Chapman commenced the year as Chairman of the Trustees and following his resignation, PDG Jarvis MacDonald took over the role for the remainder of the year.
No Trustee received any remuneration from the Trust.
The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the Trust and to enable them to ensure that the Financial Statements comply with the Charities Act 1992. They are also responsible for the safeguarding of the assets of the Trust.
Objectives
These are defined in the Trust Deed.
The objectives of the Trust are to hold the Trust Fund and its income upon trust to apply them for any purpose which is charitable according to the Law of England & Wales whether for the benefit of any individual, or group of people, or for the benefit of any other organisation established for charitable purposes.

Statement of Public Benefit
The Trustees have complied with the duty in section 4 of The Charities Act 2006 to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission.
Main benefits result from the work of:

Lions Clubs International Foundation and MD105 Foundation to further humanitarian work and disaster relief.

MD105 Brain Tumour and Paediatric Cancer Foundation to create awareness of brain tumours and the funding needs for vital research projects. ‘Together we will find a cure’.

Education of young people in partnership with UNICEF School in a Box Project

Lions Sights Savers Trust to further the cure and prevention of blindness
-
Wateraid and Dentaid projects to help poorer people gain access to clean water, sanitation hygiene education, dental care and oral hygiene education.

Youth Trust Fund to facilitate recognised Lions Clubs International projects for young people

Encouraged people with intellectual disabilities to learn and take part in sporting activities in partnership with Special Olympics GB.
Benefits relate to our main aims and objectives and beneficiaries are members of the public both within the United Kingdom and overseas.

I report on the accounts of Lions Clubs International District 105SC Charity Account for the year ended 30 June 2021 which are set out on pages 7 to 9.
The Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year and that, by its constitution, an independent examination is needed.
It is my responsibility to:

Examine the Income and Expenditure Account for District 105SC Charitable Trust as prepared by the District Finance Committee (Trustees)

To state whether particular matters have come to my attention
Independent examiner’s report on the accounts
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission.
I have completed my examination. I confirm no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

Accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or

The accounts do not accord with the accounting records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

Organisation
The rules of the Charity are governed by a Trust Deed dated 1[st] July 1998 and registered with The Charity Commissioners for England & Wales approved on 17[th] December 1998 and as amended September 2017 and June 2019.
Trust Deed
The Trust Deed is held by the District Treasurer and is available for inspection at any reasonable time.
Review of Activities
The activities of the Charity continue to be in pursuance of its objectives. Activities are regularly reported at each cabinet meeting and also monitored at District Finance (Trustee) Committee Meetings.
Financial Review
The detailed financial position of the Charity is shown in the Financial Statements. The Charity continues to receive the majority of its income as voluntary donations. Some of the donations from Lions Clubs in the District are designated for specific purposes. On consolidation, payments are then made on a regular basis to the designated Charities.
The Trustees consider the finances of the Charity to be satisfactory.
Assets
The Assets of the Charity consist solely of cash held with HSBC bank plc, Christchurch Branch.
Voluntary help received
All administration of the Charity is provided free of charge with any indirect costs being charged to the Lions District 105SC Administration Account.
