In particular the trustees consider how planned activities will contribute to the aims and objectives they have seL ACHIEVEl¥tENfs AND PERFORMANCE Govern2nee 2nd Management Th¢ year ending March 2022 was a particularly difYi¢ult one for the nursery and saw a great deal of chang¢ as regards to sta(fin8 and in particular th¢ ¢hang¢s in Trustees with many choosing to st¢p down in December 2021. Having been contacted by the I1 authority Mare¢ Mason OBE agreed to step in and assist in the running of th¢ nurs¢ry which was experiencing significant challenges with incre&s¢d costs and falling revenues. Performance of Charity In the March 2021 account5 reference is made to reserves sufficient to allow the orderly wind down of the business however after a full review by the new trusttts and with the support of the remaining trustees it was decided that with additional support the situation Uld indeed be turned around. It was quickly established that the principle barrier to increasing revenues was the poor state of the nursery and to this end Children l Nurseries of which Margaret Mason is the CEO provided considerdble support in the form of both monetary and consultancy s¢rvic¢s establishing industry best practices which included new IT package5 &5 part of th¢ wmpl¢t¢ refvrbishment of the nursery. It was also necessary to rationalize some of the costs and a fvll review was undertaken whi¢h unfortunately result¢d in the ru¢ll0n of som¢ staff members which was unavoidabl¢ if the business was io recover.
