RAB LATE PLAY CLUB Truste8s Report for The Year Ended 31stAugust 2024 The Trustees of RAB Late Play Club charity present their annual port and accounts for the year ending 31st August 2024 and confirm that they comply with the requirements of the Charities Act. OVERVIEW The RAB Late Play Club is registered with OFSTED and is a registered charity offering a Breakfast Club and an Afler School Club for children attending Ihe R A Butler Academy. Our objective is to provide qualty, affordable childcare in a safe, fun and social environment, that guarantees parenls and carers Pea of mind. During the period we provided term time care for up to 90 children from Reception through to Year 6. In response to demand oui intake has once again increased compared to previous years. We remain at full capacity for most days and are delighted to have maintained a respected profile within the local community over the past year. Within the two clubs the children are offered a Choi of nutritious drinks and snacks and are free to choose from a variety of art and craft activities and a range of tabletop games. The school playing fields are used for outdoor activities when Ihe weather is fine. As a charity we seek to benefit the local community, therefore our fees are kept afft)rdable. RAB Late Play Club is committed to safeguarding and the welfare of children in their care and the Trustees make sure that the staff understands and shares these principles. We promote social cohesion by not tolerating any abuse or bullying amongst children or staff and by acptIng and caring for children from all ethnic backgrounds. Our activities and planning are in agreement with the Charity Commission guidance on public benefit. ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE We have continued to serve the needs of the community and the slaff have provided an excellent amenity for children and their parents. We have sucSsfUllY managed our financial sustainability through the ongoing pressures of rising costs. Staff retention and recruitment in the Childcare Sector continues to be challenging but the Club has once again successfulty increased staff numbers in order to meet the need for an increase in capacity. Our staff training program was expanded to encourage continued professional development and further enhance play skills. Our Trustee & Management Committee membership has b*n stable over the past year. We have updated our Investments and Reserves Policy in light of our increasing cosls and income. Trustee awareness and Safeguarding training is an area of constant review, and a new lead Safeguarding Trustee has been appointed.
RAB LATE PLAY CLUB FUTURE PLANNING We will continue to closely monitor the financial stability of the Club so that we remain in a robust financial position whilst continuing to operate safely with minimum disruption to our children. In response to the ongoing demand for places at the Club we are further increasing our intake to 80 places for the Breakfast Club and 105 places for the After School Club in Seplember 2024. We will continue to explore opportunities to increase the Club's intake and will work with RA Butler Academy to identify these. We will be consulting wilh parents and carers over the coming year to identify our sucSseS and areas we can make improvements to best serve our community. We will continue to expand our staff training program to further enhance play skills and staff awareness of the diverse needs of children and how to best respond to these. Training and induction for Trusteeslcommittee Members will continue to be enhand. Childcare reforms are occurring over the coming 3 years to improve the accessibility of wrap-around-childcare including the government's plan to offer free Breakfast Clubs to all children. The extent to which these may impact the Club will be closely monilored by the Management Committee. ORGANISATIONAL STRUCTURE The Trustees and Management Committee are responsible for the overall direction of the charity. The day-to-day operation is organised by the Play Club Manager supported by a Deputy Manager and appropriately qualified staff. The financial and business management is organised by the Treasurer & Financial Manager. I report to the charity Irustees on my examination of the accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31 August 2024. Responsibllities and basis of report As the charity Irustees of the Charity, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Acl 2011 ("the Acr). I report in respect of my examination of the Charity's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. Independent examiner's ststoment I have completed my examination. I confirm that no matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe: accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or the accounts do not accord with those records. or the accounts do not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulalions 2008 other than any requirement Ihal the accounts give a 'true and fair view, which 18 not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
