SHIRLEY PARISH HALL REGISTERED CHARYNO. 1067821 ADDIIESS: 81 Wickham Roa Shirley, Croydon, CRO 8TB ort of the Trustees for the ear endin 31st December 2024 Shirley Parish Hall (including the Evans Room) continues to be used by local gryoups- Shirley Singers,, Shirley Players short mat bowls, Sparkles Pre School, lodgc meetings. One section of the bowls club continued to play on a Thursday morning throughout the summer . The hall was used twice during the year as a polling station. Adance class commenced using the hall on three evenings from September. Wcdding receptions and other celebration parties continue to be held on a Saturday but the decision was taken not to lel the hall to paty rentals on a Sunday. Blood donor sessions are held on various Sundays throughout thc year and the Siolim Union( London) branch use it once a year for a special celebration and mass. As mentioned in last year's report the car park surf<ice was in need of repair. The repairs have now been carried out and parking lincs redrawn . This now allows for twenty five parking spaces and gives unimpeded access to Rosewood Lodge and the two adjacent houses. Various other repairs and improvements have been carried out including sanding of the hall floor , repaintingF the back of the stage, replacing the sign on the outside of thc building and general tidying up . Income increased slightly from the previous year. There was a small increase in utilitiLs and cleaning expenditure. The major increase in expenditure compared to Ihe previous year related to the one off cost of £6,739 for thc car park resurfacing . In the opinion of the Trustees the Hall is adequately insured against fwe, theft £md public liability.
