Activities
Swansea City Opera's principal activity is to tour affordable quality opera to under-resourced areas in Wales and the UK. This is supported by outreach and education activity to use opera as a tool to promote economic activity and prevent social exclusion among disadvantaged communities. In recent years the companies' activities have extended to musical heritage of disadvantaged groups.
Objects: (A) To Advance (Anywhere In The World) The Education And Appreciation Of Opera, In Particular, By The Provision Of A School For Young Persons To Provide Instruction In The Theory, Practice, Performance, Production, Presentation, Direction And Composition Of Opera And The Musical Art In All Its Forms; And(b) To Advance (Anywhere In The World) For The Public Benefit The Arts, Culture And Heritage, In Particular But Not Exclusively By Facilitating And Enabling People (Principally, Displaced People) Whose Art, Culture And Heritage Is Under Threat To Create And Make Available To The Public Archives And Records Of Their Cultural And Societal Customs And Practices, Their Oral And Written History And Their Creative And Artistic Endeavours.?
