Ch8rity'No. I(￿>7￿)} Chairman: Bridget Ench ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING . cHAIR￿s REPORT 2023 I am pleased to present on behalf of the trustees our twenty sixth report following our registration as a Regist¢red Charity. Accounts We can again report that the Band's finances remain in credit. We have received a donation of £107k from the estate of the late Mr John Walt¢r, who sadty pass¢d away. Mr Walter was a supporter of the Band attending numerous concerts and events over the years. Fund Raisin Activities With the players that we have we wer¢ able to play carols over the Chrigtmas period and at a coupl¢ of cvents during the year. The impact from the Covid pandemic has ¢ontinu¢d' with membership being a challenge. We have tried various recruiknent thiv¢s during the year. W¢ have agreed to support our local community school by supptying brass instrunients so that the nML8iC teachers can teach brass playing in the school. The overall aim being to encourage young people to learn to play brass instriiments and h¢nc¢ to rebulld the Band. Band Hall Th¢ existing hall lease continues to be Tenewed atmually by Cornwall Coullcil. As previously report¢d Cornwall Council has confmed that our plans will ren]ain valid as long as we do not n￿teriallY amend the build design, since the compl¢t¢d infrastructure was on our plans. Various communications via email occurred durAng the year confrming that Cornwall Council will still honour th¢ £50.000 commitment to us towards building our New Band Hall. Revised Heads of T¢rn]s of the contract are still in progress, which as agreed pr¢Yiousty transfer th¢ freehold to the Band.

enditure The Band has continued to limit th¢ir requests to essential expenditEfe in order to save fimds for the new hall and recruiLm¢nt drives. We have had to Ca￿ out essential repairs to the exASting hall fjat roof. Committee Sadty one of our triistees has been diagnosed with cancer so he has had to stop playing. I would like to tak¢ this opportunity to thank the Convnittee for their Contributions and commitment throughout the year and look forward to th¢ir help and input for the coming year.
