Section C Ob'ectives and activities To provide facilities during the school holidays for the daily care, recreation and education of children with severe learning difficulties who attend Ty Gwyn Special School. Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document Ty Gwyn Holiday Play Scheme is a charity that provides play and recreational activities in some of the half term holidays for pupils of Ty Gwyn School from aged between 5 years and 19 years old. These activities take place in a safe and supportive environment. The main activities of the charity are 1. Arts, crafts and play to help explore creativity. 2. Sports and games, including swimming. 3. Music and Dance. 4. Day trips to different location giving children a chance to explore new environments. Section D Achievements and erformance Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year Sustaining Vitsl Play Opportunities for Children in Cardiff On 14 June 2021, our charity was awarded a three-year grant from the National Lottery Community Fund, enabling us to deliver essential play provision for children in Cardiff. Impact of Our Play Scheme During the year to 17 June 2024, we supported 102 children, providing access to a tailored play scheme across four school holidays. This initiative has been invaluable to families, offering a safe, engaging, and enriching environment for. Our provision has included.. Specialist Physical Therapies - Ensuring children receive much-needed therapeutic support during school holidays. Exciting Trips - Visits to Penarth, Cardiff Bay, Barry Island, and St Fagans, broadening children's experiences and social engagement. Creative & Sensory Play - A variety of arts and crafts, messy play, and outdoor activities to foster creativity, independence, and joy. Plans for Future Activity The National Lottery grant has now ended and our reserves have been used to fund the scheme through 202412025. However, its future beyond this period depends on securing new funding. This scheme is a lifeSine for children and families, providing not only play opportunities but also therapeutic support, social interaction, and respite for parents and carers. Without it, many children would lose access to these vital experiences, which contribute significantly to their well-being and development. Section E Financial review The charity surplus for the year ended 17 June 2024 amounted to £9,952 and our bank balances amounted to £111,058 at that date. Brief statement of the charity's policy on reserves These balances were used to fund the charity's 2024125 activity as the last tranche of National Lottery Funding was received om 5 April 2024. The of trustees and examiner charity's trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 {the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to: examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act, to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 14515)(bl of the Charities Act, and to state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of independent My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the examiner's statement Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a 'true and fair, view and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.
