Summary ofthe main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identffied in the accounts, Para 1.17and 1.19 The Covid 19 pandemic and the uncertainty regarding the stoplgo nature of restrictions regrettably resulted in no publlc events again being held in 2021. However, with relaxed restrictions, volunteers were able to continue with the restoration and maintenance of the Collection in readiness for events planned for 2022 including the 120 annlversary of the commencement of municipal transport in Cardiff. Stalement confirming whether the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Comrnission on public benefit Para 1.18 The Trustees have regard for Section 17(51 of the Charities Act and Charities (Reports and Accounts) Regulations 2008 ensuring thaL in 2022 when events Can resume, they are for the benefit of the public. There is no admission ¢harge to any of the events held, making them accessible and affordable to all. SORP reference NIA Para 1.38 Policy on grant making NIA Para 1.38 Policy on social investment including program related investment There are no paid staff employed by CTPG and the restoration and maintenance of its vehicles is therefore carried out in the main by volunteers who regularly give up their time free of charge so that its large collection of buses is well presented for the general public to vlew and travel on. Volunteers simllarly are involved in activitles such as the maintenance of its archive and the production of publicity and publications to increase public awareness. Paro 1.38 Contribution made by volunteers other Achievements and Performance SORP reference Whilst with no public events held during 2021 it had not been possible to showcase the colleGtlon to the general public, volunteers have been busy during 2021 restorlng further exhibits for people to sèe in 2022. Summary of the main achievements of the chartty, identifying th8 difference the charity's work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. Para 1.20 The colleetlon illustrates many of the developments that have occurred to bus design over the years and also the changes in the structure of the industry brought about largely by political changes in policy. The archlve collection also shows how technology has movod forward in thlngs such as ticketing and ticket machines for example. Much of this history would be lost wlthout the work of CTPG.

The vehicle is in good condition and once repainted into Merthyr colours will fill an Important gap in the collection. Achievements against objectives set Para 1.41 A 1949 ex Red & White Services Guy Arab double decker has been gifted to the charity by its fornier owners who are CTPG members. The vehicle has been housed with the CTPG collection for a number of years and the transfer of ownership secures Its long temi future for the public to see in South Wales. Progress has been achieved with the completion of the restoration fornier Cardiff Bus 2001 Dennis Dart low floor single decker. This bus is accessible to wheel chalr and olher vlsitors wlth mobllity Issues therefore making free bus rides accessible to a wider audiencè. Work continued on other important vehlcles in the collection Including a 1944 Bristol K double decker new to Pontypridd UDC which is being restorad retrospectively to its original wartime condition with wooden slat seats. Another of the vehicles to see continued restoration is a 1958 Guy Arab single decker new to Aberdare UDC, this being the only vehicle in the collection new to that undertaking. The repaint has included period exterior advertisements. A 1958 Leyland Tlger Cub single decker new to the then family owner business of Jones of Aberbeeg has received an engine rebuild by an outside contractor to enable it to once again join the operational fleet. Fundraising during 2021 exceeded expenditure enabling the collection to be enhanced for tha benefit of visitors. Members donations had increased during the year In response to an appeal for funds to asslst with the relocation from Its secondary site at Barry Dock to Llandow and the anticipated outlay required to bring the new site up to the required stsndard. In addition, it has a policy of increasing its reserves with a view to eventually owning its own premises. Many of these vehicles are available for display to the general publc enhancing the experlence for visitors. Sale of transport related books, modelsy photographs and other memorabllia not required by tho Charlty will also return to being source ot Income when events resume.
The investment policy Is to spend money carefully on items thatwill enhance the collection and on the maintenance and restoration of the collection for the benefjt of vlsitors. Investment policy and objectives including any social investment policy adopted Para 1.46 In addition, funds have to be made available to maintain the buildings in whlch the collection is housed to Safeguard its future. Some funds are required to repair or replace tools and equipment used by volunteers for their safety. The greatest long tenn financial rlsk to the Charity is seen to be the housing of the collection at an affordablo price. There is not seen to be any short tem) risk but if funds can eventually be found to purchase property. this would give greater security.
