PTA Annual General Meeting Minutes
Tuesday 23rd September 2025
Location: STEM Room, Tunstall School Start Time: 7:30pm
Attendees: Sophie Butchard (secretary) Claire Annand (treasurer), Beckie Andrews (Headteacher) Katie Belsom-Glover, Jessica Newell, Sophia Whiting. Paula Mewett, Emma Cross, Megan Smith, Michelle Mitchell Stephen Hall, Lisa Stein, Darren Sissons, Nicole Marshall, Robyn Bartlett, Rebecca Deere, Sarah Belsom, Jo Henley
1.0 Apologies for Absence and Resignation
No apologies were received.
Prior to the meeting a resignation from Rachel Pamplin and Anisha Abramian from the 2024/25 committees were received.
2.0 Approval of 2024/25 Annual General Meeting Minutes
The last AGM meeting was held on Wednesday 18[th] September 2024, the minutes were agreed to be an accurate record of the meeting.
3.0 Chairs Report for 2024/25
In the absence of RP SB introduced the Chair’s report. Sophie welcomed and gave thanks to all that attended.
In her report read by SB RP explained the need for the AGM and that we would agree the constitution for the year and elect the new trustee and committee members. RP went on to say the time has come for her to step down from Tunstall PTA as both of her daughters have moved onto secondary school, special mentions were given to the Pamplin family who have supported the PTA tremendously, Stephen Hall, Simon Good for their endless support.
Tunstall PTA had a wonderful academic year, Rachel thanked everyone who gave their time, effort and resources to events such as the firework display, Ice cream sales, Elfidges and Mothers & Fathers day and the discos. Jessica Newell was thanked for second-hand uniform sales and Katie Belsom-Glover for her commitment to the children's enjoyment of the grotto day by becoming our very own elf. RP wished the PTA all the best for the coming years.
4.0 Headteacher’s Report
Mrs Andrews’ report which was written with Mrs Homer was presented to the attendees. Within the report Mrs Andrews shared how fortunate the school is to have a PTA whose commitment and energy shine through in every corner of school life. Mrs Andrews commented on the fundraising efforts of the PTA through their larger events as well as the support they show at school productions and seasonal celebrations. The impact of their fundraising is profound and

the opportunities it makes available to the children. Attendees were grateful to Mrs Andrews for providing the report.
5.0 Treasurers Report
The accounts for the year ending August 2025 were shared. The following was noted:

CA advised that as the PTA raised over £25,000 the accounts will need to be verified by an independent person. CA to enlist an independent verifier.
6.0 Appointment of Trustees
A decision on the number of elected committee members needed to ensure the PTA is a viable charitable organisation.
18 people were in attendance. After some discussion it was agreed that the PTA would form a committee of 9 with 3 trustee positions. This would include moving forward without a designated chair of the PTA with the elected committee working with the wider community on upcoming events. SB in the position as secretary would be the point of contact with the school.

It was agreed the committee would monitor working without a chair and if they feel one is needed they will hold an EGM later in the year to elect.
8.0 Any Other Business
New PTA community groups and communication around events was discussed, class reps and documentation to be followed up. An update to progress will be shared at the next meeting.
