Treasurer's Report for the period ending 31 December 2023
The OSA raised over £33,000 in 2023 from a variety of events. £32,000 was donated to the school leaving a surplus of £1,300 for the year.
Cash balances as of year-end were £55,071 up from £53,771 in 2022. Cheques for £35,000 have already been issued for 2024 to the school.
On a positive note, key administrative issues around the bank accounts were resolved during the year.
Our auditor Gouri Kubair has agreed to be reappointed and our controls are consistent with the expectations of the Charities Commission.

2023 was the best year in terms of net fund raising on record even surpassing a stellar post-covid 2022. This has been helped by a very generous Parent donation combined with improved uniform sales and a better focus on costs.

4. 200 Club
The 200 club memberships shown are those received during the year. Prizes and creditors included relate to draws for months in the year. Each winning ticket receives £50. The issue with the bank accounts on the 200 club has now been resolved with new accounts opened with Metro bank. The scheme administrator, Alan Williams has done an excellent job breathing new life into this initiative.
5. Donations to Dame Alice Owen's School
A contribution of £32,000 from Dec 2022 was cashed by the school in January 2023. A provision has been made for a payment of circa £35,000 from available funds to be made to the school in 2024 for activities related to 2023.
6. Coins, Amazon & Easy Fundraising
The Association receives a donation for old foreign coins collected. The association also receives charitable donations from Easy Fundraising and amazon Smile, when on-line purchases are made from retailers registered with either platform and the association is selected as the charity for donations.

7. Uniform Sales
The second hand uniform sales continues to perform strongly and saw an 18% increase in receipts in 2023
8. Owens 50 year Anniversary
£1505 worth of tickets were sold in 2023 for this 2024 event
9. Bank Accounts
All issues with the bank accounts are now resolved and we have now moved to online banking. Mandates will need to be updated in 2024.

Responsibilities and As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the basis of report accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
