Trustees Report – June 2021
Relating to Annual return for 2019-20 financial year
Charity name : Fulbourn Primary School Parents Teachers Association
Registered charity number : 1058882
Government and management of charity : Run by volunteers for fundraising specifically to offer enrichment activities and resources for the children of Fulbourn Primary School. The committee comprises three officials: Chair, Treasurer and Secretary; and as many other parents and carers as wish to attend meetings. The officials will normally serve for 2 years before their position comes up for re-election.
Trustee names (as per Charity Commission Website) : Mrs Laura Boxall, Mrs Frances Parris, Mr David Boyd, Dr Joy Eldridge, Mr John Beresford, Mrs Tamsin Fry and Mrs Clare Pickard
Objectives :
Two main aims every year: 1) To raise money to provide resources and fund activities for all children throughout the school. 2) To organise fund-generating and non-fund-generating extra-curricular events for children and / or parents and carers.
How the Charity has met those objectives and its main achievements :
In the 2019-20 financial year the main focus of the PTfA fundraising was dedicated toward providing funds for the school to purchase a phased reading scheme for all Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 children. In addition to this main focus, the PTfA also funded the maintenance of the swimming pool, maths resources and enrichment activities.
How the Charity has met public benefit criteria :
We are a group of interested parents and carers of children of Fulbourn Primary School. The head teacher (or a nominated deputy) is invited to attend meetings in an ex officio capacity to provide a necessary link between the school and the PTfA. All parents and carers of current Fulbourn Primary School children are welcome to attend PTfA meetings.
Details of reserve policies :
The PTfA will not commit to fund items requested by the school to a total amount greater than the balance in the general fund account at the time the commitment is made.
