Pinewood Judo Club ANNUALGENERAL MEETING 7:30pm 20th October 2025. Chairman's Report: Introductlon: Welcome everyone &thankyoLJ for attending m8kinEthe effortto attend tonight's AGM. The purpose of tonight's meeting is to action ourformal club constitutional requirements: to elect new committee members, to approve the club financial accounts forthe c31endaryear 2024 and to highlightthe running ofthe club overthe period 24-25. The club strives to be an open family club welcome to all and 15 focused on deveLoping individuals from beginners. classes through to the seniorlveteren sessions. 2024 sawthe progression of the club for Jason's firstfull term as head coach, he has been developing his sessions and tailoringthem to the various levels within the classes, there has been some restructuring within the sessions to suit the abiLity & needs of all. Club Membership: We welcomed new junior and senior members into the clubwith an approximate 10% increase in membership between October 2024 and October 2025 with their now being around 235 at the cLub. this is a positive sign we are going in the right direction. Membership retention has remained strong. with many members training regularly throuEhoutthe year & we seem to have re8lly grownthe Friday senior session which 15 fantastic. We are proud of the vielcoming enviTonment the club has. encouraging beginners and supporting more experienced judoka alike, so well done to aLithose coache8 it's a big team effort. Training & Development: Regular sessions have been welL-attended, with excellent instruction provided by our coaching teams on 8LI our sessions.
Several members achieved new grades. demonstr8tingtheir hard work and technical improvement with a quite a few new Dan Grades this year. Phoebe Deacon, Nick Olmos. Kevin Podlecki, Ben Grainger. Anthony Egby, Kieren Whlte all attainingthelr 1" Dans. Huge congratulations to our Wednesday night Sensei 8nd long-term coach Paul Knight forAchieving hi5 6th Dan. Khaled Simmons on his 5 Dan. Allthese achievements from th a 1" dan through to a 6 dan come with hard work* perseverance and can take a considerable amount of time & dedication to attain. soverywelldone to everyone. I knowJason and the rest ofthe coachingteam are workingtoward the development of the players fromthe beginners. classes rightthrough to seniors. I knowjason wants to takethe club to new levels and we 8Sthe committee and thejudofamily of parent's. players & coaches are fully behind'him with his aspirations to achieve this. Comp•tltlons & Achievements: Our clubwas represented at local and regional competitions, with notable results achieved by both junior and senior players throughoutthe year. I must add in a note about the ARESteam event to which our senior pLaye15 were superb and ended up winning the final to now be promoted to the premier league. We had a greattrip to Anerp earLiei in the year, well attended by both players and parents. We managed to take home some very hard fought an(1 well-deserved medals, these competitions abroad are always extremelywelL attended by multiple nationalities and 8re always of an extremely high standard. For some of our players it proved an invaluable experiencejust to attend this level of event. Our PJC Member8 and Players demonstrated not only skill but aL8OthevaLues of respect and discipline, making us proud ambassadors of the sport, the weekend ran smoothly and I knowjason will already be looking ahead forthe nexttrips 8broad. A specialthanks to Khaled who put together 8n unforgettable trip for Marsha and Olivia to Japan last month. where they experience(I the high intensity and different IelS of trainingthey adopt overthere, the trip sounded Like 8n incredible experience something thatthe club was fortunately abLé to offer some support so thanks and weLI done. Club Development & Improvements: l am sure many of you will have noticed a massive ch8ngeto the internal look ofthe club with the redecoration alone. This has primarily been undertaken by our head coach Jason Woolerton who has spent endless days and evenings up atthe club, in his own time, brush in hand to make it Look like it does. l am sure you will alLagree looks fantastic. so massivethanks to both Jason & Claire forthls.
We have also changed the Tatami wlth new Matts and the Column encasements paddingwhich furthermore adds to the professionalfeeL& lookthat both Jason and the club wantto achieve. We have had a massive clear up of the reargarden thi8 year so we can st8rtto make use of it goingforward for social events and family days & club events. We are also goingto be undertaking some essential and much needed upgrades to our current heating system and the Men'8 Ch8nging areals with a new boiler and showering facilities coming overthe nextfew months. We will be replacingthe 2fire exitdoors at either end ofthe matwith a more secure, durable and weatherproof sets. as the current ones are not inthe best of condition. We are also looking atthe upgrading of the main walkways and seating areas Within the club with a more durableflooring system somethingwe are also planning on getting done overthe coming month months. There is alW8yS a list of tasksljobs and things to do at the club. the list could be never ending but we will undertakethese mgjorworks to try and minimlse any disruption to the club &the sessions whilst doing so. Finances: The club rem8ins finan¢ialLy stable thanks to membership fees, fundraising efforts, and community support. We currently sit in a positive position with 105k in Resenies. We have with the 3 maln revenue streams comingfrorn PJC Mernberships (50-60K per annum) PTU (£24K perannum) Carlson Gracie Jujltsu (£12k per annum). We will continue to irrdest in the building, the equipment, and coaching development over the next year. Looklng Ahead: We aim to grow our membership further by promotingthe club within schooLs and the Local community. Continued focus will be pLaced on coach education and player development. Plans are underwey for more competition entries end inter-cLub exchanges to broaden player experience. bringing in more open clubvisits and randoori nights. Wewill encourag8 aLI pLayers to attend camps and clubvlsits when arranged bythe coaching teamls and Ja50n. l Know the Club would liketo run its own events one day so we will be pLanningan(I discussingthe potentiaLforthese events goingforward, something we have be discussing over the years so itwould be amazing if we could make it happen.

th Income Income increased to £102,902 (2023: £89.885). Rental income was very similar but we saw a £11,200 incre8se in membership income. Cost of Sales Cost of sales for competitions increased Slightly but the main reduction in overall cost to £17.145 {2023: £23.596) is due to less teamwear being purchased this year. Expenditure Expenditure decreased to £58,993 (2023.. £74,961). Sensei funding continues to increase but prior year expenditure had a kitchen and boiler refit included. Reserves We report a surplus forthe year of £26,764 {2023: (£8,67311. The total surplus reserves now stands at £106,606 as at 31" December 2024. The reserves we hold ensure the charity can continue to operate for the foreseeable future and meet its liabilities when they fall due. Reserves will also be used to m8int8in and renewthe charity's assets. 2025 is looking on course to break even wth good dojo rental and the focus of our expendlture being on competition support as well as investing in new mats and necessary buildingworks for the dojo. The Committee continues to be grateful for all the volunteers and fund raising undertaken, Includingthe benefit from monthly gradings undertaken by Kim Tilley. Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordants with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Act").
