In preparing the financlal statements. the truslees are responsible for assessing the chariiable Company's ability lo continue as a going concern, disdosing, as applicable. matters related lo going concern and using the going concem basis of accounting unless the Iruslees either intend to liquidate the charitable Company or lo cease operations, or havo no realistic altemalive bul lo do so. Our responsibilltles for the audlt of the financlal statements Our objectives are lo obtain reasonable assurance about whether the financial statements as a whole are free from material misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and lo issue a Report of the Independent Auditors that includes our opinion. Reasonable assurance is a high levèl of assurance, bul is not a guarantee that an audit conducted in accordance wth ISAS IUKI will always delect a material misslalemenl when it exists. Misslalements can arise from fraud or error and are nsidered material if, indivldually or in the aggregate, they could reasonably be expected to influence the economic decisions of users taken on the basis of these financial slalements. The extent to whlch our pro¢odures are capable of dete¢tlng lrrogular1es. Includlng fraud and audlt response Irregularities, including fraud, are instsnces of nanoMplI8nce wllh laws and regulations. We design procedures in line with OUT responsibilities, outlined above, to delecl matersal misslalements in respect of irregularities, including fraud. The extent lo which our procedures are capable of delecling irregularities, induding fraud, is detailed below. We have assessed the overall susceptibility of the flnancial ststomenls to material misstatement due to irregularities as low. At the planning stage we identttSed areas of laws and regulations that COLtld reasonably be expected lo have a material effect on the financial statements from our general commercial and sector experience and through discussion with the dire¢lors and other management, as roquired by auditing standards. The potential effect of any laws and regulation on tho financial statements can vary considerably. There are laws and regulations that directly affect the financial slatemenis le.g. the Companies Act) as well as many other operational laws ènd re9ulalions where the consequences of non-¢ornpliance could have a material effect on amounts or disc5osures in the financial slalerrenls. Owin9 to th& size, nalLre and complexity of the organisalion and the applicable laws and regulab'ons lo which il musl adhere, the risk of material misstalemenl was defjmed lo be low, therefore procedures rfonTred by the audit team were limited lo.. CommLtnicaling identified laws and regulations at planning throughout the audit team lo remain alert to any indications ol non-compliance Ihroughout the audit. Enquiry ol management and those charged wth governance around acujal and potential liligalion and daims as well as non•compliance wtth laws and regulations. Reviowing minutes of meetings of those charged with governance. Reviewing financial statement disclosures and testing to supporting documentslion lo assess compliance with applicable laws and regulations. We have assessed the overall susceptibility of Ihe flnancial statements lo material misst*ement due to fraud 8$ low because the nalure of the charitable company does not particularty lend itself to Iraud. Managernenl override is inherently high risk on any audit. Management override, which may cause there to be a malellal mis51alemenl within the financial statements, Fnay preseftl ilsglf in a number of ways, for example". Override of intemal conlrD15 le.g. segtègation of duties) Entering into transactions outside the nomial Course ol business. especially with rèlated parties Fraudulent revenue recognition, induding fictitious income and inconie being recorded in the wrong period Presenting bias in accounting jLsdgements and estimat&s.; In order lo r8duce the risk of material misstslement to an acceptable level. numerous audit procedure5 were perfomed including.. Enquiri¢s of management as to whethèr they had any knowledge of any actual or suspected fraud Review of malarial joumal entries made thfoughoul the yfyar as well as those mad& to prepare the financial Statements Reviewing Ihe undèrtying rationale behind transactions in order to assess whelhor Ihay were outside the normal wurse of business Reviewng the minutes of meetings held by managemanl. Increased substantive testing across all material income streams Assessing whether management's judgements and estimates indiealed potential bias Owing lo the inherent limitatsons of an audit, Ih&re is an unavoidable llsk that we may not have detected material misslalements in the financial statemenis, even though w8 have performed our audit in a¢cordBnce with audi11ng standards. Furthermore. as with all audits, there is a higher risk of irregularities (especially those r8lalin9 to fraud) bein9 undetected, as these may involvethe override of inlemal controls. collusion, inlenliorlal omissitsns and misrepresentations etc. We are not responsible for preventing non-compliance or fraud and therefore cannot be expected lo delect all instancès of such. Our atjdit was not designed lo identify misslalements or other irregularili#s that would not be considered to be malellal to the financial statements. The further removed non<ompliance with laws and rulationS is from the evenis and transactions reftecled in the finan¢ial st31èmenl5, the less likely we would become aware of it. A further d&scriplion of our responsibilities for the audit of the financial slalemgnts is located on the Financial R9POrting Council's website al www.frc.org.ukJauditorsresponsibililies.
