The addition of calming artwork helps to create a more soothing and supportive envlronment. It's a simple change but one that makes a world ol difference. Highlights of the year2025 Tony's Sponsored Walk Supports Neuro Rehabilitation Amethyst Garden July Diana Princess of Wales Hospital, Grimsby Tony, who organised a sponsored walk along Cleelhorpes seafront to raise funds for the Neuro Rehabllilation Centre al Goole Hospital. Joined by his wile Emma, family, and friends, Tony took on this challenge aller receiving care at the centre himself. Their inspiring goal was to raise lunds lor a specialist Motomed Exercise Chair lo support the iehabililation ol other palienls. Thanks lo their incredible efforts and the generosily of supporters. the chair ha5 now been delivered a milestone made possible by their hard work and dedication. On Friday 25th July 2025, the Amethyst Garden at Diana. Princess ol Wales Hospital Imas officially opened by local celebrity Tornmy Turgoose. The garden was created in rnemory of Lee Clarke, who sadly passed away from bowel cancer in 2022 at the age 0150. Funded by £20,000 raised by Lee's family and Iiiends, the project has transformed the space into a welcoming. accessible area for patients and visitors. Key features include murals of Cleethorpes Pier and Grimsby Docks, improved wheelchair access, new seating area5, a memorial bench, and dedicated family- friendly zones. It was a pleasure to welcome Tony and Emma back lo Goole Hospital recently lo see lirsthand the difference their fundraising has made. Thank you to Tony. Emma. and eveiyone who contributed- your support Is truly changing lives. The garden is already providing a peaceful and supportive environment, helping to fulh'l Lee's wlsh and furthering HTF'S commitment to enhancing patient and visitor wellbeing. Wearing Red for Reggie A Remarkable Tribute September August James Harris Retraces His Father's Hospital Journey This year, the staff and pupils at Old Clee Primary Academy in Grimsby carne together for a very -J. special and heartfelt caLJse. In memory of their -Tr much-loved pupil, Reggie. who sadly passed away, the school organised a fundraising day tilled with compassion and community spirit. A man whose father spent two month5 in intensive care completed an incredible IOOkm challenge between three hospitals to raise vital funds. Last summer, John Harris was admitted to the Intensive Therapy Unit IITUI al Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital after battling pneumonia, organ failure. and undergoing open~heart surgery. After three and a hall months in hospital. he finally returned home anc5, thanks to the dedicated staff im Grimsby, made a remarkable recovery, Wanting to give Something back to the team who cared for his dad, John's son James organi5ed a special fundraising run. On 6 September, Jarnes retraced his father's hospital journey. starting at Louth County Hospital and travelling to Grirnsby Hospltal, Castle Hill Hospital, and back lo Grimsby. Along the way, he was joined by friends, family. and hospital staff who ian, biked, walked, and cheered him on throughout the challenge. The event wa5 a fantastic display of community spirit and gratitude, raising fLJnds to support the work ol the ITU team. By taking part in 'Wearing Red for Reggie., the school raised an incredible EL287 in support of the Rainforest Ward at Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital in Grimsby a ward close to Reggie's heart. This generous contribution will make a rneaningful difference to the young patients and families who spend time on the ward. providing comfort and care at a time when it's most needed. We are truly grateful to everyone who took part, donated. and supported this thoughtful initiative. Breast CancerAwareness Month Donation Supports The Pink Rose Suite October is Breast CanceT Awareness Month. and during this time we were pleased to welcome members of the Brigg and District Breast Cancer Care Group to The Pink Rose Suite. The group made a generous donation of £6.000 to support the suite, helping to make a meaningtul difference to the experience of local patients receiving treatment. We extend our Sincere thanks to everyone involved for their contin port. 14 Marywalks 50 Milesto Support Breast Unit A dedicated tundraiser walke(I between two hospitals to raise money for the breast unit that cared lor her during her cancer treatnient. Mary'vickers was diagnosed with breasl cancer after a routine mammogram in June 2024. She received treatment at The Pink Rose Suite al Diana, Princes5 of Wales Hospital in Grimsby. as well as radiotherapy at Castle Hill Hospital in Cottingham. FQUNDtsI In October. Mary, 68, embarked on a ffvé- day walk between Castle Hill and Grimsby HospitaL covering the 50-mile journey in sections between 6 and 10 October.
