SORP reference
Summary of the purposes of
the charity as set out in its
governing document
Para 1.17 To advance the Christian faith, to relieve
sickness and hardship, to advance
education
Summary of the main
activities in relation to those
purposes for the public
benefit, in particular, the
activities, projects or
services identified in the
accounts.
Para 1.17 and
1.19
As a church we continue as part of our
main objective and vision to offer the public
material and spiritual benefits within our
locality. These services we offer to our
local community. All of the activities of the
church are open to the public and none is
exclusively for church members. Main
particular benefit to the public is a
befriending and referral service
provided as and when a need arises. The
building is used as a training centre for
nursing homes and care providers.
Community use is also encouraged, clubs,
societies and social activities ( birthday
parties etc )
Statement confirming
whether the trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit
Para 1.18 The Trustees are aware of the guidance on
public benefit and have made sure that all
the services we operate within the building
are open to everyone in the local
community. The building is not used
exclusively for church purposes.
Community use of the building is also
encouraged. Currently it is used by local
care providers for training purposes during
weekdays and some Saturdays when the
building is not being used by the church.

Policy on grant making Para 1.38 Small gifts and help are given to individuals
as and when a need arises or is brought to
our attention. The main area so far has
been for food costs especially with this
economic downturn. Help is also given
towards overnight accommodation or travel
costs for genuine situations.
Policy on social investment
including program related
investment
Para 1.38 KCC has no investments currently.
Contribution made by
volunteers
Para 1.38 Kettering Christian Centre also benefits
immensely from its members and volunteers
who contribute to the running of the
premises and other service areas without
which it would have been next to impossible
to keep everything operational as it is
currently.
Currently our volunteers assist with the
ministry, music, cleaning, Administration
work, IT and hospitality
The charity has benefited immensely from
the different professional backgrounds the
volunteers are from. Also, the volunteers are
given training tailored to the roles they
volunteer to be involved with.

Achievements and Performance

SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 KCCis truly growing as an organisation
numerically, spiritually and also our
financial position is a lot than in the
previous years. This is great news for our
beneficiaries because it keeps us on top of
our bills and other areas of the charity. It
also means that we can support more
people in our community in terms of
hardship, especially during this economic
downturn. The ministry is also benefiting
from the increased numbers of members.
We now have more volunteers as a result. I
would like to say the ministry is performing
very well and hence the added numbers
and much happier members.

Financial Review

financial position at the end
of the period

space should our income decline unexpectedly.

running costs and reserves are set aside
for expansion of the services offered by the
charity, and renovation / maintenance costs
of the building
Reasons for holding zero
reserves
Para 1.22 N/A

concern
Para 1.23 N/A

Additional information (optional) You may choose to include further statements where relevant about:

risks facing the charity
Para 1.46 Policies are in place to manage the risks to
