Achievements and Performance

SORP reference SORP reference
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity,
identifying the difference the
charity’s work has made to
the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider
benefits to society as a
whole.
Para 1.20 Our main focus for this year has been on
progressing the development of our new pavilion.
The main events for this year have therefore been
as follows:

The old clubhouse was permanently closed
during the year and will remain closed until
such time as it is demolished as part of the
redevelopment project.

New storage unit - planning permission has
been granted for a new storage unit to be
utilised by all village committees.
Construction is scheduled for Mid 2024.
Funding for the storage unit itself is being
provided by Towersey Parish Council with
additional Grant funding being sought for
the cost of the concrete base.

New Pavilion - A Planning application has
submitted to South Oxfordshire District
Council (SODC) on 13 October 2023.
Following review and feedback from
statutory consultees, some amendments
have been made to the design. We expect a
decision by the summer of 2024.

Fund Raising for New Pavilion - A sub
committee was formed during the year to
deal with all the business aspects of raising
funds – c.£1.25m required. This includes,
among other things, creating a business
plan and contacting the many organisations
who provide grant funding for major
projects.
Looking to the future, once planning permission is
granted we will be seeking to retain a builder to
build the new pavilion. We also plan to change our
Charity structure to a CIO and of course we shall
continue to maintain our playing fields and
children’s play area for the benefit of the local
community.
