REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 The Truslees present their annual report together with the financial statements of the charity for the year 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024 OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES • Policies and objectives The charitvs objects are to raise funds for general charitable purposes as the club members shall decide in ordinary meetings. Activities undertaken to achieve objectives The primary objectives of the charity are.. To develop the acquaintance of young men Ihrough the medium of their various occupations and lo raise funds for local charities. To emphasise the fact that one's Calling offers an excellent medium of service to the community. To further the establishment of peace and goodwill in international relationship5. To further these objeGtives by meetings and other activities. • Main activities undertaken to further the charity's purposes for the public benefit We are extremely fortunate to have been able to Gontinue to organise our many annual events across Hartlepool. Whether it's engaging event5, spreading joy and goodwill or simply some people jumping in the sea we at Hartlepool Round Table are proud to organise and take part in the below.. Annual Beer Festival at Hartlepool Borough Hall The Santa Sleigh tour of Hartlepool The Annual Boxing Day Dip. In carrying out these activities the Board of Trustees have complied with the duty in section 4 of the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Commission. ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE • Key performance Indlcators During the year, the organisation made contributions to 8 good causes totalling £5,320. REPORT (CONTINUED) FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE (continued) • Fundralslng activities and income generation The charity raised funds primarily from the events listed above The charity did not receive any complaints in relation to fundraising during the year. FINANCIAL REVIEW • Going concem After making appropriate enquiries. the Trustees have a reasonable expeclation that the charity has adequate resources to continue in operational existence for the foreseeable future. For this reason they continue to adopt the going concern basis in preparing the financial statements. Further details regarding the adoption of the going concem basis can be found in the Accounting PoliGies. Reserves policy At the year end the charity has total reserves of £11.928 all of which is unrestricted free reserves. The Trustees have examined the requiremerlt for free reserves. The Trustees do not consider it necessary to quantify a minimum level of reserves held for working capital requirements. The Trustees will only make charitable donations from available secured funds. Principal risks and uncertainties The Trustees have identified 2 main risks to the organisation. the continued recruilment of members and the availability of a venue for the beer festival. Across the country, membership to Round Tables are in decline. 10 years ago. there were approximately 30,000 Tablers and now the National Association of Round Tables of Great Britain indicate that there are approximately 3,000. In Hartlepool. we currently have 8 Tablers and are actively seeking to mitigate against this risk by= increased awareness of our roles and impact on Hartlepool greater presence on social media more partnerships with other charitable organisations locally talking more about our achievements with the local media actively holding recruitment events Additionally, Hartlepool Borough Council have indicated that they are going to be closing the Borough Hall, the venue for the beer festival, for renovations. We are uncertain if it will be open In time for us to have the beer festival next year. STRUCTURE. GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT • Constitution HartSepool Round Table Charitable Trust is a registered charity, number 1054004, and is constituted under a Trust deed dated 20 April 1995. The financial statements comply with the requirements of the governing document and applicable accounting standards. The charity is managed by the Irustees in accordance with the Trust Deed and in accordance with the National Round Table Organisation's guidelines. Trust8es are elected annually at the Annual General Meeting. Page 3

This dection takes place in April each year at the AGM. Organisatlonal structure and declsion4naklng pollcles The Trustees of the charity are ultsmately responsible for the organtsation's govemance. However. decisions on day to day issues and grants distribution are made at our monthly meetings by a majority vote of those present All members of the organisation are equal and their vote carrtes the same weight. HARTLEPOOL ROUND TABLE CHARITABLE TRUST NOTES TO THE FINANCIAL STATEMENTS FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 MARCH 2024 ACCOUNTING POLICIES 1.1 Basis of preparation of financial ststements The financial statements have been prepared in accordance wylh the Charities SORP (FRS 102) Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102) (effective 1 January 2019), the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland {FRS 102) and the Charities Act 2011. Hartlepool Round Table Charitable Trust meets the definition of a public benefit entity under FRS 102. Assets and liabilities are initially recognised at historical cost or transaction value unless otherwise stated in the relevant accounting policy. 1.2 Income All income is recognised once the charity has entitlement to the income. it is probable that the income will be received and the amount of income receivable can be measured reliably. 1.3 Expenditure Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obligation to transfer economic benefrt to a third party. it is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Fundraising are costs incurred in attracting voluntary income. 1.4 Financial instruments The charity only has financial assets and financial liabilities of a kind that qualify as basic financial instruments. 1.5 Fund accounting General funds are unrestricted funds which are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity and which have not been designated for other purposes.
