Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("the Acf,). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145{5)(b) of the Act. Independent examiner's statement I have completed my examination. l Gonfirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect.. the accounting records were not kept in accordan with section 130 of the Charities Act; or the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or the accounts did not comply wtth the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a 'true and fair, view which is not a matter considered as part of 8n independent examination. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection wtth the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understsnding of the accounts to be reached. Penistone Round Table {"PRT") Accounts review for the year Ended 31 March 2024 The Charity Account and the Equipment Bank Account both form part of the Peni5tone Round Table Charitable Trust. The accounts are maintained separately in order to ensure that the latter can be easily audited, if need be, by external funding providers. Charity Account / No. 2 Account The income and expenditure forthe year ended 31st March 2024 is shown within the accounts attached. The Charity account sees deposits through the year relating to fundraising events and donations out to local community groups, projetts and charities. Overall 2023/24 has seen an approxlmate 11%1£4.4k increase in the level of income/fundraising to that achieved in 2022123, despite bonfire sales being lower, the charity entered two teams in a national Round Table fundraising event called the Skinflint rally which generated £18k of income {of which £11.8k (income less costs) was donated to the Sheffield Children's hospital Charity). We received a contribution from Penistone Town Council relating to Gala 2023 of £1,000. Halloween & Bonfire events have been covered jointly due to the proximity in date to one another and combined ticket receipts on the ticketing platform used. The 2023 event were very successful and ralsed £16,116 with expenses of £10,098 (mainly attributable to the purchase of the fireworks themselves and a dep051t for next years being paid in this financial yearli giving a profit to the Charity Account of £6,018. Penistone Round Table received contribution from Penistone Town council towards running Costs of Bonfire of £2,750. Penistone Round Table have made cash donations in the year of £29,421. The list below includes all donation5 made over £500 Included in this total havlng been paid out of the general charity funds. Of the above balance there is £18.67 of members moneyto be paid into a non-charity members account. Equipment Bank/ No.3 Account The income and expenditure for the year ended 31st March 2024 is shown wlthin the accounts attached. The Equipment Bank account covers the running costs and income for the Penistone Communlty Equipment Bank. The scheme is part of Penistone Round Table Charitable Trust and provides a service to local charitable and community groups to hire equipment at low cost to support fundraising and community events. During 2023124 we received no significant grants from BMBC/ Penistone Town Council and the PCEB has been run efficiently with a view to offer value for money but also covering its own overheads, which have been increasing in terms of maintenance of agin8 equipment and wear and tear damage as a result of the hiring proces5. Key expenditure totals as follows,. General equipment £1,192 Upkeep, fuellgas and repalrs £229 Insurance £1,984 General expenditure Includes replacement of fuel and gas, rent forthe equipment bank garages, 5ervicinglrepairs to generators and insurance. No donation of excess fund to the Penistone Round Table Charity Account ha5 been made in this period. Total Income for the year £4,242 Money spent in this year £3,701 Balance from previous year £3,904 Account Balance at Year End £4.445 The above balance will allow the Equipment Bank to continue to funrtion and support local groups and the wider community.
