FRIENDS OF OAKLEY INFANT SCHOOL - PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2023

Trustees Report

We are delighted to present to you the Trustees Report for Friend’s of Oakley Infant School for the past academic year. It brings us great joy to share the wonderful news of the significant accomplishments we have achieved together as a community. Through hard work, dedication, and unwavering support, we have successfully organised numerous exciting events and, importantly, raised a substantial amount of funds for Oakley Infant school.

All in all, the total funds raised in the year 1st September 2022 to 31st August 2023 was £27,702 (2022: £23,502).

We had funding from some exciting new funding streams for Friends, including just over £2,000 from the COOP community fund and over £460 from the people participating in the Local community Lottery.

In addition to our remarkable fundraising achievements, the past year has witnessed a full return to community and social events within our school. Friend’s understands the importance of creating opportunities for both children and adults to come together, socialise, and have fun. With the help of parents, staff and the Oakley community we held a series of events that served as a platform for building lasting connections within our school community. From the Christmas, Easter and Summer Fayres to school discos and two successful adult quiz nights, these events fostered a sense of belonging and camaraderie among students, parents, and staff.

It is a testament to the incredible efforts of everyone involved and Friends are deeply grateful for everyone’s continued support.

FRIENDS OF OAKLEY INFANT SCHOOL - PARENT TEACHER ASSOCIATION FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2023

Thank you to all those who have contributed to all our amazing fundraising efforts this year, which have enabled us to support the school by funding activities to enhance the school experience of the children of Oakley Infant School and create special memories for them of their time here.

Friends have built a healthy reserve this year. We have committed to fund 50% of the cost of Listen2Me for this school year, and will continue to be able to support school refurbished and improvement projects. This year we were able to fund a visiting theatre company for a Christmas Show for all children, an in-school activity for each of the year groups as well and the wonderful ‘Happiness Day’ which saw farm animals visit Oakley infants school. In the coming year we are excited to work with the school to provide more treats and extra activities that enhance our children’s school experiences.

Please look out on Facebook and in School Newsletters for all the ways you can support us, and keep those ideas coming!

Thank you.
