the school. In furtherance of this object the Association may:

The Association is to be non-party political and non-sectarian.
The Association is to take out Public Liability and Personal Accident
Insurance to cover its meetings, activities, and the Committee (Parentkind
membership)
During the 2024/25 academic year, the PTA organised a range of
fundraising and community events to support and enrich the
educational experience of pupils at Decoy Community Primary
School.
The PTA’s main fundraising activities were the Christmas and
Summer Fayres, which were the largest income generators of the
year. These were supported by a variety of smaller events, including
pop-up shops during the school day, refreshments at school events,
and a monthly lottery draw. The pop-up shops also provided pupils
with valuable opportunities to practise money handling skills in a safe
and inclusive environment.
In addition to fundraising, the PTA supported improvements to the
school environment through working parties that removed outdated
and unsafe play equipment and refreshed the playground with new
painted areas to enhance playtime experiences.
A significant proportion of funds raised contributed towards the
development of an outdoor classroom, a long-term PTA fundraising
goal. Funds raised during the year will also support the installation of
new permanent play equipment to replace the timber trail removed
this year.
Further contributions made by the PTA included the provision of
classroom books for reading corners, external speakers for themed
school days, and Easter treats for all pupils, helping to enhance both
learning and school life throughout the year.

Section D Achievements and performance

During the reporting year, the charity successfully raised Summary of the main achievements of the charity £32,138.89 through a range of fundraising activities, enabling during the year significant investment in projects that directly benefit the pupils of Decoy Community Primary School.

A key achievement was facilitating the construction of an outdoor classroom, a long-term fundraising objective that will provide enhanced learning opportunities and support outdoor education. The charity also coordinated playground improvements, supported by volunteers, creating a safer, more engaging and visually appealing play environment for children.

The charity delivered several successful fundraising and community events, including DecoyFest , which generated approximately £6,000 in net income, and inclusive pop-up shops for Mother & Others and Lads & Dads, raising approximately £1,500 while promoting inclusivity and practical life skills for pupils. In addition, the charity ran the Glow Party for the second consecutive year , achieving strong attendance across all year groups and further strengthening school community engagement. These achievements demonstrate the charity’s continued commitment to improving educational facilities, enhancing pupil wellbeing, and supporting the school community in line with its charitable objectives.

In the coming year, the charity plans to continue delivering a selection of its successful events from 2024/25, recognising their value in generating funds and supporting the school community. However, the charity intends to reduce the overall number of events delivered, focusing instead on fewer, well-established activities.

This approach is intended to ensure the sustainability of the charity’s operations by avoiding volunteer burnout, making more effective use of volunteer time, and maintaining a positive experience for those supporting the charity. By concentrating efforts on high-impact events, the charity aims to continue meeting its objectives while supporting the wellbeing and retention of its volunteers.

adopted.		 To support the effective delivery of its major fundraising events, the
PTA aims to maintain an appropriate level of reserves. These
reserves enable the charity to meet the upfront costs associated
with large-scale events, particularly the Christmas event,which
requires approximately £3,000,and the Summer event,which
requires approximately £5,000.
Where these large events are not planned or delivered within a
charity year,the trustees may determine that a lower level of
reserves is appropriate,and reserves may be reduced accordingly.
This approach allows the charity to manage its funds
proportionately while continuing to operate sustainably and in
support of its charitable objectives.
During the year, expenditure exceeded income by approximately
£6,000. This deficit was planned and approved by the trustees and
arose from the use of existing reserves rather than from
operational shortfall.
The charity entered the year with a strong financial position,and
the additional expenditure reflects the funding of a significant
historic pledge made by a previous PTA, which the current trustees
honoured. As a result, the trustees do not consider the charity to be
materially in deficit,as sufficient reserves remain and the
expenditure directly supported the charity’s objectives.

The charity’s principal source of income is derived from large-scale
fundraising events,supplemented by smaller fundraising activities
throughout the year.
Expenditure during the year has been applied directly to further the
charity’s objectives by enriching the school environment and
educational experience for all pupils at the school.
Given the nature of the PTA and the fact that it could cease
operations in any given year,the trustees consider it most
appropriate for funds to be used promptly to support the school,
rather than held for long-term investment. As such, the charity does
not operate a formal investment policy and does not undertake
long-term investments.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity Decoy Community Primary School Parent Teacher Association for the year ended 31/07/2025.

Responsibilities and basis of report As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
