Shiva Charity is a small charity that works directly with schools in Nepal, Sri Lanka and India. We have a small team of three in Nepal who identify and manage projects.
We have built a close working relationship with Wrington Vale Rotary Club who have generously supported our projects.

Shiva Charity aim to provide child centred, creative education for students in Nepal and Sri Lanka by improving their school environment with new buildings, paying teacher’s salaries, repainting schools , providing clean drinking water, building new toilets, teacher training, providing school resources (such as computers/musical instruments,) and individual child school sponsorship.
Fundraising has been made possible by a variety of methods including a sponsored walk up Snowdon and loyal support from other charities such as the Wrington Vale Rotary Club. Shiva Charity has a new web site and an active Facebook page to provide up to date information and encourage support. In addition we have a Just Giving page to make donations easier.

Section D Achievements and performance

In Sri Lanka we provided monthly funding to pay the teachers at the Pitipana Pre School near Negombo. In Nepal, work continued on the building of 5 new classrooms at Dipshikha School thanks to the generous support of the R.A.O.B (Royal Antediluvian Order of Buffaloes) The school had been completely destroyed by the earthquake in 2015. Shiva Charity continued to provide monthly financial support to pay the teacher's salaries at Harold Whiting School near Banepa. Eight children were sponsored through their education in 2021.Tuition fees, exam fees, uniforms and books were paid for. Jan - March- Concrete floors were laid in Dipshikha school and windows and doos fitted. Electricity was in- stalled, false ceilings and new desks were provide for the classrooms. April- Shiva Charity took over the administration of the Midnapur Project supporting 18 teachers in poor schools in India. May- Schools reopened after a period of lockdown. June- Toilets and washing facilities were completed at Dipshikha School. July - August- Classrooms were painted at Dipshikha School September- A new osmotic water filter was installed at Dipshikha School to provide clean drinking water. Four new computers were installed and one year inter- net subscription provided. October - December- Music lessons were restarted at Sanga School, Ginette Harrison School and Dipshikha School. I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31/12/2021
Responsibilities and As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the ac- basis of report counts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
