Isle of Wight cantata Choir

Treasurers report to Annual General Meeting September 2024

This has been a productive year for Cantata with the Bernstein and Ramirez concert in October 2023, a Christmas concert last december, followed by a singing day with Alexander L’Estrange and lastly the Zimbe concert in April 2024 when we sang his music wearing brightly coloured Zimbe T-shirts

Costs of putting on such big events have risen and overall we have made a deficit of £1,512 during the year. Luckily we have reserves which have enabled us to perform such a wide variety of music. We have been able to make a gift aid claim for our subscriptions which has boosted income.

This year we have not taken on a bursary scheme but intend to in 2025. Our reserves amount to £35,254 and our current account balance is £17,933. £10,000 will be put aside for the bursaries.

As costs have risen we have decided to raise the subscription fee slightly to £80 per annum.
