TRUSTEES' REPORT FOR THE YEAR ENDED 31 AUGUST 2025

Constitution

East Devon Music is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation governed by its constitution dated 21 February 2020.

Objectives and Activities

The principal objectives of the charity are to advance, promote and develop the arts for the people of Honiton and its surrounding district, but without prejudice to the generality of the foregoing, to broaden the range of educational and community activities through the media of expressive and performing arts. The principal activity of the charity is the presentation of high quality live music.

Achievements and Performance

We continued with our policy of restricting our activity to providing grants to other organisations providing live music in the Honiton area and East Devon generally. These were Sidmouth Concert Society, the ISCA Ensemble, the Lympstone Music Festival and the Honiton Community Complex (The Beehive, Honiton). Trustees attended several concerts.

We intend for this policy to continue in 2025-26.

Financial Review

Our total income for the year was £1,691 (2024 - £2,510) and our expenditure was £6,227 (2024 - £4,537). Our accumulated cash funds for the year are £104,596 (2024 - £109,132).

In order to assist you to fulfil your duties under the Charities Act 2011, we have prepared for your approval the financial statements of East Devon Music Festival CIO for the year ended 31 August 2025 which comprise the Receipts and Payments and the Statement of Assets and Liabilities from the Charity's accounting records and from information and explanations you have given us.

As a practising member firm of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), we are subject to its ethical and other professional requirements which are detailed at https://www.icaew.com/regulation.

This report is made solely to the Board of Trustees of East Devon Music Festival CIO, as a body, in accordance with the terms of our engagement letter dated 14 February 2025. Our work has been undertaken solely to prepare for your approval the financial statements of East Devon Music Festival CIO and state those matters that we have agreed to state to the Board of Trustees of East Devon Music Festival CIO, as a body, in this report in accordance with ICAEW Technical Release TECH08/16AAF. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we do not accept or assume responsibility to anyone other than East Devon Music Festival CIO and its Board of Trustees, as a body, for our work or for this report.

The Board of Trustees have approved the financial information for the year ended 31 August 2025 and have acknowledged their responsibility for it, for the appropriateness of the financial reporting framework adopted and for providing all information and explanations necessary for its compilation.

We have not verified the accuracy or completeness of the accounting records or information and explanations you have given to us and we do not, therefore, express any opinion on the receipts and payments accounts.
