Secretary’s Report

Covering the period September 2024 to July 2025

Monday 22nd September 2025

Welcome everyone, and thank you for attending this year’s AGM.

I am pleased to report that the SPA has enjoyed another successful and productive year of fundraising and community events. Our efforts once again focused on supporting Arts and Music provision in the school, alongside wider enrichment activities.

This year we organised the following events:

Highlights and Challenges

Top 5 Fundraising Events

op 5 Fundraising Events
Event Amount Raised (£)
Christmas Fair 7,877
Summer BBQ 6,591
Pre-Loved Uniform Sales 2,141

Christmas Fair

Summer BBQ

Other Events (by funds raised)

In total, the SPA raised £23,505 net profit, an increase of £8,387 compared with the previous year.

Challenges

As ever, the biggest challenge continues to be volunteer capacity. Running such a wide variety of events depends on parents stepping forward, both to help on the day and to take the lead in organising. We also continue to seek ways to increase engagement with initiatives such as name label commissions, which have yet to deliver the hoped-for results despite significant promotion.

How We Spent the Funds

Top 5 Funded Projects

Funded Project Amount Spent (£)
60 Chromebooks and licences 13,519
Forest School Programme 5,750
SPA Shed and foundations 5,611
Year 6 Production & Leavers’ Disco 5,233
ICT charging trolley and headphones 2,781

In total, the SPA spent £40,793 on resources and activities this year, an increase on last year, while also setting aside funds to support 2025/26 priorities.

SPA Committee

At last year’s AGM, the following officers were elected:

Other Full Committee Members elected included: Eliza Gregory, Aswathy GopiKrishnan, Gina Taylor, Helen Sullivan, Gayan Ranasinghe, Bianca Jackson, and Linus D’Souza.

During the year, Chandra Sarjua, Emily Morton, and Marjorie Musisi stepped down from the committee.

A core group of approximately 10 SPA members are now DBS checked. A role description and welcome pack has also been drafted to make it easier for potential and new members to get a better understanding of SPA work.

Tracey Grassi stepped down during the year.

Membership & Vacancies

Joining the SPA is open to all parents and carers. We encourage new members to begin as Associate Members, before stepping up to full membership.

Thanks

Together, we have achieved a great deal, and we look forward to another successful year ahead.
