## **Secretary’s Report**

Covering the period September 2024 to July 2025

Monday 22nd September 2025

Welcome everyone, and thank you for attending this year’s AGM.

I am pleased to report that the SPA has enjoyed another successful and productive year of fundraising and community events. Our efforts once again focused on supporting Arts and Music provision in the school, alongside wider enrichment activities.

This year we organised the following events:

- Christmas Fair (without the Grotto)

- The School Calendar

- Running Events

- St Anselm’s Got Talent

- School Discos for all year groups

- Year Six Production (after the Summer BBQ)

- Summer BBQ

- Leavers’ Disco

- Pre-loved sales

- A new art gallery exhibition for parents

- Mother’s and Father’s day present rooms

- Break the rules day

## **Highlights and Challenges**

## **Christmas Fair**

- In 2024, the Fair ran without Santa’s Grotto, and moving the date back to a Saturday made a real difference.

- It became one of our most successful fairs to date, raising £7,877 (up from £3,360 last year).

## **Summer BBQ**

- Blessed with excellent weather, the Summer BBQ brought the community together with food, live entertainment, and the ever-popular bar.

- This year’s event raised a record £6,591 (up from £4,665 last year).

## **Other Events (by funds raised)**

- Pre-Loved Uniform Sales: £2141

In total, the SPA raised £23,505 net profit, an increase of £8,387 compared with the previous year.

## **Challenges**

As ever, the biggest challenge continues to be volunteer capacity. Running such a wide variety of events depends on parents stepping forward, both to help on the day and to take the lead in organising. We also continue to seek ways to increase engagement with initiatives such as name label commissions, which have yet to deliver the hoped-for results despite significant promotion.

## **How We Spent the Funds**

## **SPA Committee**

At last year’s AGM, the following officers were elected:

- **Chairperson** – Ms Tania Hunt

- **Vice Chairperson** – Mrs Kelly Kelly-Keegan

- **Secretaries** – Zoe Harrington-Quinn & Jennifer Payne

Tracey Grassi stepped down during the year.

## **Membership & Vacancies**

Joining the SPA is open to all parents and carers. We encourage new members to begin as Associate Members, before stepping up to full membership.

- 1 Staff Member

- 3 Full Committee Members (to replace Year Six parents who have left)

## **Thanks**

- All parents and carers who supported us with their time, skills, and donations.

- The wider parent community for your continued generosity.

- And most importantly, our committee members, for their hard work and commitment throughout the year.

Together, we have achieved a great deal, and we look forward to another successful year ahead.
