Treasurer’s report
Ian ran through the accounts for the financial year ending March 2022 and the group made a loss of £4102.45. This financial year included 2 plant sale invoices. Various grants were received in the previous financial year for which costs have been included in this financial year.

Ian to arrange for bank mandate to be changed and include Marleen Batchelor.

Access to the Charity Commission to be amended to remove previous treasurer and to include Liz Mullender and Hannah Smith.

Based on a request from a parent Ian asked the committee to consider providing financial support for an active scout to participate in sailing and summer camp. Committee agreed to support by 25% and Ian confirmed that he will also apply for funding through County.

Independent examiner’s report to the trustees of XVII Colchester Sea Scout Group
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the XVII Colchester Sea Scout Group for the year ended 31st March 2022.
Responsibilities and basis of report:-
As the charity trustees of the Trust you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiner’s statement:
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

Accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or

The accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
