Trustees’ Responsibility Statement
Welcome from the Chair
On behalf of the Board of Trustees, I am pleased to present the Trustees’ Annual Report of Axis Educational Trust for the financial year ended 31 August 2025.
This has been a landmark year in the story of Axis. We celebrated 30 years of service through our Anniversary Gala and Talent Contest, bringing together students, parents, staff, volunteers, civic leaders and partner organisations to recognise the achievements of our community and the young people we support. The event reflected not only our history but also our ambition for the next stage of growth.
During the year, trustees completed the acquisition of the Henry Road building in East Barnet. This major strategic step will support our long-term plan to create a permanent Youth Centre offering education, mentoring, wellbeing, employability and community activities under one roof. The building will strengthen our sustainability, increase our reach and provide a safe, inclusive base for children, young people and families.
Our work in 2024–2025 continued across tuition centres, supplementary education and wellbeing projects, holiday activity programmes and employability projects in Barnet, Enfield and Kent. We are grateful to our funders, partners, staff, volunteers and families for their continued trust and contribution.
Warm regards, Hakan Gokce
Chair of the Board of Trustees

THE AXIS EDUCATIONAL TRUST
INDEPENDENT EXAMINER'S REPORT TO TRUSTEES OF THE AXIS EDUCATIONAL TRUST
I report on the accounts of the charity for the year ended 31 August 2025 which are set out on pages 22 to 33
Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Basis of independent examiner’s statement
My examination is carried out in accordance with Regulation 11 of the 2006 Accounts Regulations. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeks explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.
Independent examiner’s statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
-
the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
