The Charity is governed by a trust deed dated 19 July 1994. The objects of the Charity are to advance the Christian religion and support other causes for the proclamation of the Christian gospel in the United Kingdom and elsewhere.
During the year in question, the following acted as Trustees:

During the year, the main activities of the Charity were to support the holding of regular services at Abbey Hall, Netley Abbey and elsewhere in the area, including a Sunday School and activities for children and young people. The church provides a manse for suitable living accommodation for the pastor and his family. The church also supported the former pastor in his work in Eastern Europe and a member of the church serving in France. The Charity also hosts “Hound Basics”, which is a food bank serving the local community and a Job Club in association with Christians Against Poverty. During the year the parent and toddler group known as Abbey Tots was transferred to another provider. In addition, grants were made to the following persons and organisations in accordance with the objects of the Charity:
Grace Baptist Mission UFM (for work in Eastern Europe) Caring for Life Middle East Reformed Fellowship Christian Compassion Ministries (Philippines) Southampton University Christian Union SASRA
In undertaking these activities, the charity has provided public benefit through its activities and services (which are open to the public and accessible on the church’s web site), through the food bank (as referred by other agencies) and personal advice to individual members of the public where sought.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 05/04/2022.
Responsibilities and basis of report
As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material examiner's matters have come to my attention in connection with the statement examination (other than that disclosed below *) which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:

the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or

the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
