Penenden Heath Pre-S(*)ool is a community Pre-school offering early yea[5 care and development for children from two and a haFf years to school age. We telong to the Early Years Allian and we adhere to its philosophy and aims. The Pr&Sthool is owned and run by a ¢ommFttee of parents of children attending the group. The Commtttee employs trained staff who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the Pre-S¢hool in line with Th8 Eady Years Foundation Stage. The staff rec8ive regular training to keep abreast of Pre-sthool practitss. Summary of the main activltles undertaken for the public boneflt In relation to these objects linclude within thls section the statutory declaratlon that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charlty Commi881on on publ1¢ bonefit) Our Pre-school aims to educate the whole child through play in a safe and stimulating environment. We plan a struclured curriculum, following the Earty Years Foundation Stage, to lay the foundations for the basic skills of reading, writing and dong sums using a wde range of play activities and experiences. INe offer moming and aftemoon eduGational sessions (each session is 3 hours) every weék day and at the beginnirvJ of the aftemoon session the children sit dovm together in small groups and have a packed lunch. In addition to OUT regular sessions the staff and comm6ttee organise Christmas and summer parties for the GhildtBn. Also a Chnstmas perfonnanc8 is pr&sented to parents1earS aThJ thildren who are leaving to go on to Primary School are taken on an outing. Summary ofthe main achievements ofthe charfty during the year The Pre-Sth¢JoI has a very ath've o)mmrttee who organise fundraising events throughout year. Most of our fund1$1ng events were deferred due to Covid-19. however we hekl a very successfvl lights trail at Chrislrnas, a sponSod scavenger hurrt at October hatf tem and an Easter bunny trail in Apnl. The success of the fundraising has ena8 to the Pre-school to purchase new equipment. In addtti'on. we were able to purthases gifts for the children at Christmas (party canlled due to Covid-19) and spend money on a graduation ceremony for those childm moving on to Primary Sdwl. The Pre-Sd)ool garden conkn'nues to be enjoyed by the children on a daily basis, whatever the V•eather.
