The hall was gifted to the parishioners of Tintagel and its surroundings in 1934. The charity is governed by a Trust Deed
The charity is constituted as a Charitable Trust. The custodian Trustee is Tintagel Parish Council.
The Charitable purposes of the trust are for the health and wellbeing of the parishioners through leisure, sport, and community activities.
To further these purposes for the public benefit we carried out the following activities:
Children’s Halloween and Christmas Parties, Sleigh ride through the village distributing gift bags to every child.
Christmas dinner and entertainment for 90+ adults
A food bank distributing food and essentials each week as part of Fareshare.
Monday lunch club and Thursday breakfast as part of the Warm Space programme.
Various fund-raising events throughout the year including monthly Bingo, Johnny Cowling night, Tabletop and Jumble sales and a Christmas Fayre.
A special event with entertainment to celebrate the Coronation of His Royal Highness King Charles and Queen Camilla preceded by a televised viewing of the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II with a luncheon provided.
We also host many birthday and celebratory parties.
The hall is also home to various groups and clubs including Fitsteps, Gigong, Short Mat Bowls, Brownies , 2 Art Groups, Yoga, Ballroom dancing, hairdressing, band practice and cello group.
We also hosted the Tintagel Orpheus Choir concerts throughout the summer and a concert by the Atlantic Strings Orchestra.
The main achievements in the year were reuniting and supporting the community following Covid and reducing the effects of isolation of some of our older residents providing hot food and warm spaces twice weekly during the energy crisis and our food bank providing food and essentials every week for any in need or those who just needed a helping hand.
Thanks go to all our trustees who tirelessly give up their time and who work so hard to the benefit of our Charity.
The Trustees have read the Commission’s Public Benefit requirement statutory guidance and have had regard to this when running the charity.
