In the summer temi we run a 'School Starter Session. run by Mrs Murray (Qualified Teacher) this is to support the child in their transition to sch¢)ol, the children made e￿￿lent progress with their sounds and blending enabling us to move on to Phase 2 phonics. We offer a healthy snac and children bring in their pad( lunches. We are contracted by PortsmoLrth Early Years to offer children the tem after their 3Td birthday Universal Funding 15 hours per week for 38 weeks per year. As of Apn'l 2024 the Govemment intrOdU￿d this fijnding offer for children from 2 years for working parents. If families meet the criteria that have Nursery Education Grant Funding 15 hours per w￿k for 38 weeks per year. We are also registered for the govemment disadvantaged 2 year old funding and have had a couple of families meeting the criteria. We registered wth Portsmouth L¢xal Education Authority to offer the additional 15 hours of Universal Hours 811owing sever81 working families to claim 30 hours of Free Nursery Educational Funding. This has Frf)pular for our families with a gwd percentage taking their fijll 30 hours. This allowed for all our Practrtioners to retum in September with confirmed hours In February 2024 we lowered our age range to accept chIld￿n from 1 years old to attend our setting. This was due to the families in our I￿1 (mmunrty needing more spa￿$ for their yOLJnger children. We also made this change as we are aware in September 2024 the Govemment will be lowering their funding age to start at 9 months old for 15 hours free childcare for V￿rkIng parents. Section D: Achievements and Perfonnance: Drayton Daisy Chain Pr&School oxtinues to have an excellent reputstion within the community we serve. We offer a home from home and are flexible wtih the hours we offer to cater for families who need beswke childcare rather than set hours. This also enables for more affordable childcare for families as they only need to a¢xess the hours they require. We also offer Pay as you go sessions, so a parent can have additional session for their child rf Ihey have appointments or ￿e￿j thildcare for othw fvtfilments. Management have completed Safeguarding fJ)urses on DBS Legal Duty to Refer, DBS Eligibility and Safer Recruitment. Two members of staff have also o)mpleted an addits.onal Birth-3 years old safeguarding training due to the pre-schcol now accepting younger chIld￿n from 1 years old. Staff rnntinue wtlh their professional development and many of our ¢xiurses are now accessed through E-Learning, training is provhded by PortsmoLth Early Years, Portsmouth Safeguarding Partnership, Pre-school Leaming Alliance. We have 4 children ￿1VIng additional funding to suppjrt their SEND needs, we have applied for this additional funding to enable us to provide bespoke support for the children's individual needs, induding one to one time. We have a fantastic relationship with the Drayton United Church and they have enabled us to keep up permanent advertising induding Notices boards upon the Church t￿undarieS for passing pedestrian's and traffic, this has made us more visible to the Iccal community. We conts'nue to promote Ihe Pre school through our Fa￿book and are nvwly established Webslte. Fundraising activities indude.. The "Bags 2 School" which has proved to be very well supported and now have a temly collection. We have had a Christrnas and Easter raffle and a sponsored Autumn treasure hunt during the October half tem. In addition to these fundraising events we also held our extremely successfvl S￿rtS day in the Summer term which both the children and adults enjoyed taking part in. Our IC￿al o)mmun5ty shops have donated gifts and vouchers for our Christmay￿aster raffles. We continue to encourage a voluntsry contribution for our healthy snackslcooking. This has been appreaated by our families as the children now have a more varied diet tasting, food that may be new to them. This voluntary donats.on also covers some of the additional craft resourcing arKI experien￿ we offer the children. We had special outstde visitors to discuss %Mth the chihlren ￿lf oral heatth. an NHS group tsught our children about how to keep genns away with good hand washing practices. We also follow the My Happy Mind (NHS backed) programme to supkM)rt wr children's emotional regulation and well-being. We are invited into Drayton United Churth to ¢•bbr*o thair Harvest Festival and our familios vlere very generous in donating various tiems for their food bank collects.on for the local community. We also visit the 'Fri8ndship Group, which (x)nsi8ts of elderly members of our ￿)Mmunity within the church hall next to us at pr&schcd. We (at least temily) visit them and sing songs together. This brings a lot of joy to tx)th the adults who attend and our children. At Christmas we were deligmed to have our Nativty in the Drayton United Church, the children's performan￿ was excellent making it the pHfeci start to Christmas, all their families and friends attended. We had a Christmas party and entertainer Magic Wanda which all the children loved. We had a rnag￿l Christmas Gr¢)tto ￿ a special visit from Father Christmas.
