They are inviied to joln us for either a morning or afternoon session. Which we believe not only benefits the children but has also allowed the parents time to talk freely with their chlld's key worker. where Idea5 can be offered and shared to help the children progress further at home. It also lets them see exactly what their child gets up to duTing the session and what their interest. and fascinations are. Financially* forthe second consecutive year, after a period of runnln8 at a loss- the 5ettin8 has made a surplus. This stabilisation is due to an increased number of children attending the settin& a trend which look5 set to continue for at least the next 1-2 years. Staffing remain5 flexible and staff/child ratlos were constantly observed. Para 1.20 We sent a group of children onwards, predominantlyi to our two local primary schools. With staff members working closelv alon8side the teachers and parents, offerin8 lots of help with the transitional PToce5S. We have been able to offer the opportunity for these children (those who moved up to Bathford Primary School) to return to Pepperpot. during the staggered starts that are offered in September by the school. Which has enabled the parents to secure vltal
wraparound care, allowingthem to fulfil their working Comrnitments. We strive to ensure that the 51aff members that we ernploy feel fully appreciated and listened to. We arrange regular staff meetings, and we also have individual staff supervision rneetin8S to highlight any difflculties that the staff may be facin8 alongside theiryearlv appraisal. All staff are encouraged to complete a variety of childCa courses, throughout the year. In line with OFSTED recommendation5, we have ring-fenced a budget to support this personal and professional development further. We have also invited a couple of students from two local secondary Schools. to join us for their work experience week. We continue to host several students from Norland College each year, during their six weekly in setting placements. We feel that this arrangement has greatly benefited the setting, the students and above all the children. Ourgoal is to continue to provide excellenl pre-school education forthe children of fatnilies throughout the surrounding area. Our avallable cash reserves a replenished to a level that will allow for continued service viability through any future financial pinch points.
