Sue again gave out the dates for the safeguarding tralning which havo algo been attached to these minutes. This course is free of charge and is 4 hours long (9.30 a.m. 1.30 p.m.) and can be carrbed out at Brunswick House on Beverley Road in person or vlrtually on-line. Once completed the 98feguarding training is valid for 3 year3. If a committee member has a current children's safeguardirvJ certificate from their workplace, then this is valid rf we receive a photocopy for our records. We reduced staff hourn in the Autumn term due to lrywer numbars. a8 the birth rate was exceptionally low for this cohort We also r•c4ived addibonal fijnding as we had children additronal needs. The fiJnding we re(xived from the Disability Access Fund is beiNJ used to pay for another shed thich is being 8et up as a rnark making area. Funding has now increased to £4.68 per hour. These are all full and we will be puth'ng on more sessions after the Easter holidays. We have sent out our annual Parent Questionnaires reqting feedback from parents regarding our provision. The majority of the replies are very posllfve. Intake September 2024: Elaine reported that have 37 children starting in September. We have spare sessions on a Monday p.m. {4), Wednesday p.m. (2) arKI a Friday p.m. (4) but ble are hoping we may fill these once the chIldn have Started. Ce still have a number of children wants'ng a January start date so either way we will probably fill these spaces). Sue advised that we are aware of 5 children starts'ng wtlo have additional needs, 3 of which are comirvj to us ¥ith additional support funding already in place We have been to vi&t their current sethngs, have carried out home visits and have invited them into Pelicans to gain as much infornation as possible about their development and needs. In addition. we have one child who is diabetic and ha5 been fitted wrth an insulin pump and therefore we have arranged for the Diabeti Nurse to vistt u8 in September to provide Ihe staff with training. 8taffing will remain the same next year. Leanne will be Wofking an extra half day to help with the SEND children. We have recruited a Lunchtirne Supervisor (Lauren) and she will be startsng in September working 11.00 a.m. 1.00 p.m. each day alongsKJe two members of staff. Lauren has lots of experien working in schoo15 and working ryth children with SEND and is fiexible to work extra hours to cover stsff absences should we need it vthich will be very benefiual. Transltlon8 have gone well. Our children are moving to either Gillshill. Cavendish or Biggin Primary Schods. All children have been inmted to transition visrts with parents to the schools and we have had extra play dates at Cavendish. Budget & Funding: Elaine gave everyone a copy of the 2023r2024 budget. Financialty we are up by £10,000 this year as we have saved money by not paying staff lunches {they have used the hours eamed to pay back for any absences e.g.sick leave) and Y have received additional funding for our SEND provision. However. we will be starting next year with a £30.000 shortfall but hopefully we wll be able to recoup
