Summary of the The 2019/2020 year was split into a few distinct periods for WPPS. main achievements A new manager was in role as of 1 September 2019 and we were of the charity, lucky enough to retain the outgoing manager as a key WPPS full differenceidentifying thethe time memberof staff. charity’s work has We continue to offer our popular lunch club which gives our nursery made to the age children the opportunity to eat lunch with peers and be walked circumstances of its | to the local primary school afternoon nursery session. In addition, we trialled a Breakfast Club which offers an additional hour of care in the morning where children can bring along a healthy breakfast and eat with friends. This has been popular with parents and increases the appeal of the setting to a wider group of parents. We recruited a new member of staff as we enjoyed increasing numbers of children wishing to attend the setting. However, in March 2020 the setting closed in accordance with government requirements in England. Once the preschool was permitted to open in summer 2020, following a full risk assessment in accordance with government guidelines at the time, the preschool did not reopen and we were only able to welcome back children in September 2020. The decision to remain closed wasa very difficult one to take, however the nature of the physical setting did not allow WPPS to meet government requirements at that time.

raised to a market level and costs are carefully managed.
The setting was promoted locally resulting in increased
demand for the setting and increased numbers of children
attending each day. During the ongoing pandemic careful
attention was paid to ensuring the charity obtained the
support to which it was entitled, thus securing its ability to
reopen in September 2020. This has resulted in a much
improved financial position and it continues to improve. The
preschool has a healthy waiting list and is operating at
capacity as at June 2021. Therefore the charity is deemed a
