FOR THE YEAR ENDED 30[TH] JUNE 2025

Financial Review

The Fund has continued to receive the support of the Rotary Club of Romsey Test (RCoRT) with its fund-raising activities. The Club also supports the Fund with donations from the Clubs fund-raising activities.

During the year the fund raised £4,929 in respect of its 2 main events and received £30,000 from the RCoRT in respect of its 2 events. This was further increased by applying for Gift Aid. Grant and donations of £34,420 were made by the Fund during the year. There is a balance of £8,594 to carry forward into next year.

It is the fund’s policy to distribute funds as soon as recipients are identified, and to hold minimum reserves. The Trustees actively review the major risks which the charity may face on a regular basis, and believe it is appropriate to hold minimal reserves. The Trustees have also examined other operational and business risks faced by the charity, and confirm that where appropriate, they have established systems to mitigate any significant risks.

Statement of Trustees’ Responsibilities

Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the Trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year, which give a true and fair view of the charity’s financial activities during the year, and of its financial position at the end of the year. In preparing those financial statements, the Trustees are required to :-

NOTES TO THE ACOUNTS 30[TH] JUNE 2025

ACCOUNTING POLICIES

The Accounts have been prepared in accordance with the SORP “Accounting and Reporting by Charities” and accounting standards.

The principal accounting policies, which the Trustees have adopted, are set out below.

INVESTMENT INCOME

All investment income is unrestricted and is credited to the income and expenditure account in the year in which it is receivable.

OTHER INCOME

Donations and other sundry income are treated as income in the year in which they are received, unless they are related to expenditure in the future.

EXPENDITURE

Expenditure has been charged to the income and expenditure account on the accruals basis.

WALKER SPONSORSHIP FUNDS

Walk the Test Way (WTTW) participants are encouraged to raise sponsorship for their nominated charities. This sponsorship is received by the Fund and approximately 80% is passed on to the nominated charities. The remaining 20% is used by Rotary Club of Romsey Test for charitable donations including to the Trust Fund. In 2023/24 the 20% was shown as being retained in the Fund’s 2024 balance sheet as a creditor. It is has been decided that a better presentation is to show this 20% as having been transferred to the club so an adjustment to the opening balance sheet has been made.
