Annually, new trustees are supported and inducted by the outgoing trustees via a handover process concerning the affairs of the charity. There is a committee of 5upporter5 that ass1St the Trustees and provide advice support and continuity for the charity. Trustees are encouraged to participate in development opportunities provided by the Yorkshire Federation of Young Farmers, Club5. The templates and resources for this are provided by the National Federation of Young Farmers, Clubs and additional information is provided by the county federation of YFCS. The charity is affiliated to the Yorkshire Federation of Young Farmers, Club5 and the National Federation of Young Famers Clubs. Together these form a network of clubs throughout England and Wales for young people aged 10 to 28 years. The objects of the charity are: l. To advance the education of young members of the public at large in their knowledge of agriculture, crafts, life skills, rural affairs and country Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document In the interests of the Social welfare of such members to provide and promote the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupation5, being facilities which will improve their conditions of life and will assist in the development of their spiritual and mental capacities, self-reliance and individual responsibility so that they mav grow to full maturity as individuals and members of the communitv. The charity recruits its members from a significant section of the community at large. Everyone aEed 10 to 26 year can be a member of the Penistone Young Farmers Club in order to Participate in activities and discussions that increase their knowledge of agriculture, crafts rural affairs and country life. The charity actively recruits it5 member5, aged 10 to 28 years, from a catchment area of 20 miles of Penistone. The club activities also contribute to and create leisure activities for members TAR
and on occasion for the rural community in which the charity operates. The community around the charity benefits from our members being artive citizens that contribute to the rural community. Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year The main objectives of the charity are to provide young people with opportunities and this year we have done just that. Members from all over the area have competed and enjoyed activities provided by the club. From Tug O War to flower arranging the club provides young people with opportunity to flourish in the community. The most recent activity the club has competed in is the pantomime, where members have honed there acting, singing and communication skills. It has provided the members with a fantastic sense of community and friend5 for life. TAR
Brief statement of the harity's policy on reserves The charity's policy on reserves is to Eenerate and maintain a reserve which will allow sufficient funds to.. maintain the financial viability of the Charity in the event of unforeseen andlor unavoidable circumstance that brings a short-term fall in its income.. to permit the Charity, in the interests of meeting its charitable objectives, to from time to time establish a new and innovative project on a project basis to demonstrate the feasibility of such activities as a test to maintaining such projects on an on-going basis. For these purposes the Charity will endeavour to maintain reserves which are at least 35% of its annual turnover. Members of the charity had worked hard during the year, holding fund raising events, including a "Summer Do" to build back up reserves in the wake of the Covid Pandemic, where ongoing costs had seen reserves somewhat depleted.
