We were inspected by Ofsted in July 2022 and were downgraded from an outstanding to good rating. This was during a stafng illness crisis and in peak holiday season, so we had less staf, still well within ratio. . This has had no efect on our income and families continue to recommend us throughout the Community. |

The aim of Playmates is to enhance the development and education of children primarily under statutory school age by encouraging parents to understand and provide for the needs of their children through community groups. The objectives are; ofering appropriate play facilities and training courses, together with the right of parents to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of such groups ofering opportunities for all children, regardless of race, culture, religion or means. encouraging the study of the needs of such children and their families and promoting publicinterest inandrecognitionof |

Preparing our attending children for primary school. We support the children to reach their full potential and with high levels of confdence to ensure they know what to expect when starting school and understand what to expect. |

The pandemic has produced further challenges with children’s speech and language and emotional and social development being compromised. Much efort and success has been made in flling in these gaps through plans and proven strategies to expose the children to the opportunities to support them. The loss of higher needs funding had quite a fnancial detriment to our Setting, together with the delay in the replacement scheme being implemented, we found ourselves funding all the extra input needed. Gladly, the SEND support agencies kept us updated and we were able to claim funding at the earliest opportunity. With the early years sector being so totally let down by the handling of the pandemic and lack of consideration, many practitioners left the profession. We had some trials fnding suitable candidates. Our current team is strong and dedicated. We struggled to accommodate the 9.6% living wage increase fairly across our staf members. This was the second major hike in 2 years, the funding for the children was not covering our wages bill prior to this, now it was even less. As we had funds in reserve we managed thiswithatoken raiseforeveryone (which isnotafairsystem, our |
