Objectives and activities
The aim of Playmates is to enhance the development and education of children primarily under statutory school age by encouraging parents to understand and provide for the needs of their children through community groups.
The objectives are;

offering appropriate play facilities and training courses, together with the right of parents to take responsibility for and to become involved in the activities of such groups offering opportunities for all children, regardless of race, culture, religion or means

encouraging the study of the needs of such children and their families and promoting public interest in and recognition of such needs in the local areas instigating and adhering to and furthering the aims of the Early Years Alliance

Section D Achievements and performance
Summary of the main achievement of Remaining open during the covid-19 pandemic and providing a
the charity during the year safe and secure environment for the children and support
families.
We have a high number of children receiving higher needs
funding and have utilised that extra income to employ SEN
specific staff to support those children in targeted sensory
sessions.
Supporting our leavers to enter their reception year with the
knowledge and understanding they need for a confident
reception year.

Brief statement of the charity’s policy Our reserves are prioritised for covering redundancies and
on reserves notice of rent, if we have to close.
Any funds outside of this are used to improve the Setting for
the children by updating our provision with new resources,
projects and equipment.
