The charity’s principal objectives are to raise funds to provide grants and donations for the benefit of mainly local charities and individuals.
Our key fundraising event for the year was the return of the Mammoth Car Boot Sale which was held in the grounds of Wilton House on August Bank Holiday. This raised net funds of £20,400. Due to the pandemic, it had not been held for the previous two years.
Other fundraising activities included marshalling at a breakfast car meet held at Wilton House “Wilton Wake-Ups” and Santa’s Sleigh which travelled around Wilton.
The charity is governed by the Trust Fund Deed dated 2[nd] August 1993 which states that the Trustees are the following officers of the Rotary Club of Wilton namely:

The charity operates within the governing framework and constitution of The Rotary Club of Great Britain and Ireland.

Trust Fund Notes
1. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
The Trust Fund acts as the financing vehicle for the charitable activities of The Rotary Club of Wilton The Club is a member of Rotary International, pursuant to a charter dated January 3rd, 1979 and is governed by a constitution prescribed by Rotary International.
2. MATERIAL AGREEMENTS
The Trust Fund was established by a Declaration of Trust dated August 2, 1993 signed by the President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary of The Rotary Club of Wilton.
3. REGISTERED CHARITY
The Trust Fund is registered under No 1026117 with the Charity Commissioners. the government department that regulates registered charities in England and Wales.
4. ACCOUNTING POLICIES
The Financial Statements have been prepared in accordance with the historical cost convention and in accordance with applicable accounting standards in the United Kingdom. Equipment is depreciated over a 3 year period on a straight-line basis.
5. DONATIONS
Attached is a schedule of donations paid in the year by the Trust totalling: £ 15,935.00

8. CONTINGENCY RESERVE A contingency reserve of £5,000 has been established to defray any losses incurred by the Club when running future fundraising events.

| I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 30/06/2023. As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. |
